Winter prep has begun with membrane and woodchip in the gateway and more matting down around the platforms. More woodchip still to be added along with more membrane around the platforms.

Very happy doggy enjoying his first visit to the field . Thanks to his owner for the lovely video. Apparently after recently moving here from the Middle East he thoroughly approves of grass after all the sand!

When entering the fields please make sure when putting the code into the padlock it is facing forwards with the logo on the front. If you have it backwards the code will be entered backwards. Each field has a different code so make sure you are entering the correct field. Each field has its name next to the entrance. Thank you 👍

Some of this weeks visitors enjoying their time at the field this week. It's certainly been a hot one. I can't believe I'm going to say this but I'm really looking forward to the rain that's forecast at the start of next week!! My recently planted trees are in desperate need of it. The grass however is doing really well without it. Never known it grow as fast as it has this year. Its shot up since being topped only 4 weeks ago but its been very handy this week in the heat to help keep it cooler for the dogs. Fingers crossed our friendly farmer will have time to get the topper on it again next week.

Grass is going crackers this year thanks to the spell of wet warm weather we've had so the tractor and topper were out today to do the first cut of what I think will be many this year!

The mud in Long Meadow is drying up and the grass is starting to come through thick and fast. One Tree Meadow should be reopening again next week once the grass has had a little longer to come through. It would appear that Spring has finally decided to show up! 🪻🌷☀️

Catterall Dog Field is available to hire for exclusive use. We don't restrict dog or people numbers so it's ideal for hiring out with friends and for professional dog walkers to exercise groups of dogs . Please note however, we don't allow organised doggie socials with potentially large numbers of dogs not known to each other. We want your dogs to enjoy their time at the field in a safe and fun environment but unfortunately, due to the risks involved with large dog meets between dogs not known to each other, unless supervised by a suitably qualified person it's not a service we offer at this time.
