This little moo has had me worrying all night! Came home from work to her refusing food, even when graced with her favourite cuisine and evidently uncomfortable. Two signs that are not to be ignored by a bunny owner. These signs told me she was at risk of gut stasis. Immediately I set out to work with hours of tummy massages and encouragement to get her moving. Her gut began to gurgle, indicating she was beginning to suffer with gas. She wanted to lay down but could not get comfortable due to the pain. I administered some metacam and began to feed her critical care to ensure her digestion kept moving. A quick dart to the local asda at 11pm to get some baby colic drops. 1ml of infacol and she has just begun to eat all her greens and munch on some hay. She is currently now darting all round the house back to her usual self. Close monitoring to follow over the next few days and reduced pellets to increase her hay (fibre) intake. I suspect this was brought on due to grooming and her current molt leading to her ingesting too much fur. 🤞🙏 Hoping my little lady continues to feel better and makes a full recovery!
