We provide instruction in riding, stable management, pony care, and horsemanship. Our sessions are engaging, educational, and hands-on with our ponies. As a Pony Club Linked Centre, children can earn official Pony Club Achievement Badges and awards. We pride ourselves on our fun, interactive, and structured learning environment, using diverse teaching methods to cover topics from grooming to horse anatomy. Our sessions blend practical pony care with theoretical activities, incorporating worksheets, arts and crafts, and games to enhance learning.

**Saturday grooms position available**

We have a current grooms vacancy on Saturdays to join our small team.

We are happy to consider younger members of the team.

Must be sensible, confident and keen with adequate equine knowledge and practical skills.

Skill set should include tacking up, leading, rugging and picking out feet as an absolute minimum.

All general yard duties & loving on our ponies will be required!

Saturdays 8-4pm or 8-5pm.

🐴**IN SEARCH OF OUR NEXT LITTLE HOOVES PONY!**🐴

We are now on the hunt for a ‘Unicorn’ 🦄 to join our team!

We are looking for predominantly a lead rein pony who is happy to participate in grooming and being pampered by our wonderful children.

Pony should be 11hh-13hh ish. Age/looks etc immaterial as long as they are happy to do our job.

Pony should be happy and sensible to walk out hacking or spend some time doing slow steady work in the arena.

Looking for -
11-13hh ish.
Lead rein.
Happy to be fussed and groomed and take part in Pony Club badge sessions.

If they are also first ridden and sensible to help children learn on the lunge, even better, but we really are open to options.

Required for a November start.

Please do get in touch if you have/know of something suitable.

Ideally loan or LWVTB but we are happy to consider options.

Changes to our schedule

As the clocks have now changed, our schedule has changed in accordance with this.

Weekdays
We can offer riding up to 4/4.30pm. These will be our off-peak private riding sessions and our Home-Ed Pony Club sessions.

Our Pony Care Club (non-ridden) is still running on Thursdays from 4.45-6.15pm. We are also adding in another session on Tuesdays from 4.45-6.15pm. All are welcome.

Further sessions for individuals and pairs are also available throughout the week, during the daytime, on request, please get in touch to find out more.

Saturdays
Saturdays morning schedule remains the same.

The afternoons will see a slight temporary change, however, for those riders who have been having private rides with us in the afternoon, pleased do get in touch and we will book these by private arrangement.

We look forward to a wonderful winter of riding with you all.

Autumn/Winter time Riding!

We have been lucky here at Little Hooves to have enjoyed an amazing summer with lots of new faces becoming part of our riding school and Pony Club.

As we move into Autumn and dare I say it, towards Winter (!), our riding sessions will start to move out of our arena and onto our farm tracks and hacks!

Our riders will still be able to enjoy the same learning as they did in our arena but now with a view of the Cambridgeshire countryside!

We love riding outside of our arena, it feels like we are going on an adventure and we hope our riders feel the same! (The ponies also love it too, it's what they were made to do!)

Hello there!

My name is Natalie and I am the founder of Little Hooves Equine.

As a British Horse Society Coach, my passion in life is teaching people about horses. I started out as a coach over 20 years ago, teaching in local Riding Schools, taught riders on their personal horses and more recently, progressed to managing a large Riding School for quite some years.

20 years ago! Wow, doesn’t time fly when you are doing something you love! 😲😃

My ethos is ‘Horse First’. This means that everything I do, teach or participate in puts the horse’s physical and mental well-being first. After all, it’s just not fulfilling if I’m loving what we are doing but the horse doesn’t feel the same.

Over the years, I found a recurring gap in equestrians knowledge. They knew how to ride and had put considerable time, money and energy into learning to ride, but they lacked knowledge of the care, the understanding, equine behaviour, body language and all the things that aren’t riding related. These aspects we can refer to as Horsemanship skills and knowledge and sadly, in many cases they, were missing. Riding is a very small part of horse ownership, but Horsemanship is a huge part of being around horses and ponies.

And so, Little Hooves Equine was born out of the need to teach people not only how to ride, but as an all encompassing Horsemanship learning experience. Teaching and enhancing skills to enable us to work with our ponies in a way the ponies enjoy too. Understanding that they are sentient beings and ensuring both humans and ponies are enjoying their time together. Becoming part of their herd.

We are on a new adventure and we would love you to become part of our herd!

In our ‘renamed’ Pony Care Club (previously Horsemanship Huddle), on Thursday, we taught the girls the beginnings of lunging and long reining. The girls did brilliantly and Fred, as usual, was a total 🌟!!

Sleeping!

Giving the horses somewhere soft to lay now the ground has gone rock hard is really important. They must lay down each day to have their REM sleep and stay healthy and well. Here is Dudley and Alice taking advantage of laying on the soft pile of hay before they eat it! Hocas didn’t get the memo and is trying to eat around them!!! 🤣
