My name is Helen Fentem-Jones, I am a Chartered Physiotherapist specialising in Veterinary Physiotherapy, and a Category A member of ACPAT. I qualified from Kings College London in 2004 with my Masters in human Physiotherapy and then proceeded to ‘practice on people’ for 2 years before starting my training as a Veterinary Physiotherapist. I qualified with my Masters in Veterinary Physiotherapy in

2009 and proceeded from there to specialise purely as a Small Animal Veterinary Physiotherapist in a referral centre where I stayed for over 7 years until recently deciding to do this for myself. Over the past few years I have had extensive experience dealing with all sort of cases from the routine through to the complex orthopaedic and neurological issues, from top athletic dogs to the elderly companion animals. I relish the challenge of a complex patient, and part of the joy of my job is meeting all the different patients, as all our four legged (and occasionally three legged) friends have such big and unique personalities. I love dealing with cats and dogs and their owners, and I gain a lot of pleasure from helping as much as I can to regain good quality of life..

We had to get BOTH cleaners in to help the build. The irony of them tidying previously and now trashing!!! 🤣

People are so kind. The reason I do my job and LOVE it is because I know how much my boys mean to me. If I can help people keep their people well and happy for a bit longer then awesome. Dogs are so resilient, I hate hearing about them ‘coping’ why should they if we can make them as well and comfy as possible. If you see behaviour changes in any aged animal for me it’s them saying they are not happy so don’t just think they have got crumpy, get them checked to see if something hurts!

And this is what my 2 were up to whilst I was busy helping other doggos! (Which one has the best idea?!?)

I have just had some feedback on my massage presentation ☺️;
‘I have just watched Helen's talk on Massage and it was brilliant! I've been going to Helen for many years so I knew it would be very good, I wasn't dissapointed.
I have 2 working sport dogs and I know they benefit from massage. It was great to get so much in depth information and be shown great videos of techniques. I highly recommend it😊.' Laura with Ryker & Kit

Fabulous, thank you for the replies.
So potential topics I have thought of for a start:
1: Massage, principles & application,
2: Spotting lameness in the dog,
3: Principles of exercise prescription,
4: Management of the older dog.
I would need minimum of 5 people wanting to do it, it would be about 45min to an hour, and I would charge it at £25 per talk. Pre-recorded but I would make myself available at the end for 10-15min to answer questions.
Please let me know what you would be interested in, also what other potential topics??
Thanks 😊

Hello everyone 👋🏻
I am just doing some market research. If I were to offer online mini-courses for a small fee would anyone be interested? Topics would be based on owner requests.
