We’re increasing our capacity to carry out bull fertility testing!
Last week Ellie braved temperatures of -9°C in the Yorkshire Dales to attend a BCVA certified course, which means now her and Becky can both carry out bull breeding soundness exams to the highest standard.

We had our Christmas party last night 🎄🎅🏼 (Early we know!) Between courses we were occupied with some modelling kits (which was taken VERY seriously!) - Have your say, which is best? 🤪

Today our Vet Tech Holly passed her practical assessment and is now officially an Approved Tuberculin Tester (ATT), which allows her to carry out TB tests unsupervised 🥳
ATTs are assessed on numerous factors and graded from 3 (lowest) to 1+ (highest) and Holly received 1+’s across the board!
A massive thank you to the clients who allowed Holly to fulfil her training requirements on their farms. She had to test over 500 cattle on at least 10 different farms before she could take the practical assessment, so it couldn’t have been done without your help 🐮💉

🌟WE WON THE BVA WELLBEING AWARDS 2024🌟
Awarded by the representative body of veterinary surgeons, these awards celebrate veterinary workplaces that support and enhance the wellbeing of its team.
The judges felt our nomination not only impressed but that the initiatives we have in place surpassed their criteria. 🤩
On winning, our director Becky said: “Our day one ethos is to be a supportive and happy working environment. Empowering people to be the best they can be in their role ultimately leads to better care of our patients and clients.”
To be an independent farm practice, led by an all-female team, we couldn’t be more proud of this achievement🥂

Cat’s out the bag - A huge night for us as we were named winners of the BVA’s Wellbeing Awards 2024 for small/medium businesses! We’ll be back tomorrow to try to sum up in words what this means to us! 🥂🥳

Our vet Rebekah went back to her roots at The University of Bristol last night to talk to their farm-keen vet students about down cows 🐮 They discussed causes, treatment and prevention as well as general clinical exam top tips!

Our Vet Tech Holly is now on the Register of Mobility Scorers, having completed an on-farm course and examination (she was the only person on the course who consistently put the same scores as the assessor!) 🥳 She’s been quickly put to work, carrying out a scoring session this afternoon 🐮

Today Ellie and Holly attended Kings Academy and Sixth Form Careers Fair 🤩 It was a great day speaking to some really enthusiastic students and being able to represent our wonderful profession, hopefully inspiring some future large animal vets and techs! 🐮🐎🚜

Congratulations to Ian who won our giveaway at the Dairy Show 🥳 and to Chloe who won our re**al glove of gummy worms - people were truly bamboozled, with guesses of the amount from 60-700 (the answer was 200!) 🍬
