We now have a roof!!! Windows and doors being fitted today & Tomorrow 🤩🤩

It’s taking way longer that we anticipated and we’re sorry for the continuous delay in opening.

Why is it taking so long?
Well…..we naïvely thought that because there were stables already there that it would be a straight forward build. We quickly got through planning, but once building control got involved EVERYTHING changed 😬

We had to do so much groundwork due to the building being on a very well established tree line, and this was delayed due to the very wet and cold weather at the beginning of the year. As you all know, the wet weather continued and therefore so did the delays with the actual build due to not having the right conditions for concrete and mortar to set.

We have had to jump through so many hoops and red tape, and rightly so as this has ensured the building is going to be an amazing environment for your furbabies, it’s basically built the same as a new home would be, but with more insulation, making it nice and warm in the winter and nice and cool in the summer.

So, please bare with us, we promise it will be worth the wait 🤩

Realistically we probably won’t open until after the summer now as we will be very busy The Fig Tree Kennels & Cattery until then.

We will keep you all updated and will let you know when we start taking bookings ready for the opening 🙂

Finally we are breaking ground!!!!!
Still a loooooong way to go, but it has begun!

The old building is down and the site now clear. We have had the go ahead by planning, but unfortunately have hit a huge delay 😩 due to the tree line we have now been told that we need calculations, ‘special’ foundations and soil tests 🤦🏻‍♀️

This has delayed us a huge amount as we are now waiting on soil samples to come back and drawings to be done and then for building control to okay everything. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like we will get to open the doors until the end of the year now

Some of you may already know our ‘sister’ company ‘The Fig Tree Kennels and Cattery’ where we offer overnight boarding. THE FIG TREE has had a huge influx of customers who wants to book the dogs in for regular daycare so they can enjoy a different environment and be socialised with other people and dogs. As THE FIG TREE can only offer a one off day we thought it was a good idea to open a dedicated day care centre for regular intervals all on the same site. We will offer the same level of care and Love as the Kennels do and will have access to the 1 acre paddock for a run around and games. We have a dedicated team for the day care centre, so your dog will get to know their carer on a personal level. We have a one member of staff to every six dogs which is much higher than required by the council. This is to ensure your dog is well stimulated, well loved and cared for in a personal way. Just like the kennels we have kept the same principle that smaller is better! We will only have a small amount of spaces to keep the care of your pets personal and interactive.
