⭐️ We have the best clients ⭐️
Yesterday we had not one…but TWO giant boxes delivered to the practice, one full of coffee goodies and one full of wine (the wine may have left the building before we got a chance to take the photo 😅)
We are honestly so grateful to all our wonderful clients and these gifts really put a big smile on everyone’s faces. Thank you ☺️

☀️🥵☀️🥵☀️🥵☀️
It’s really blooming hot already! 🥵
Please be sensible, keep pets in cool shaded areas today, allow access to plenty of clean fresh water and DO NOT take them out unless it is completely necessary (emergencies/vets appointments for example)
No doggo died from missing a walk but plenty do of heatstroke.
Please make sure ALL pets are safe and shaded from the heat, it’s already too hot to be taking doggos out for walks. Make sure small furries also have access to shaded areas or perhaps move them to a cooler area and allow plenty of access to cool fresh water.
If you are concerned about any of your pets please call on 01245 807518 ☀️

☀️ The weather is getting warmer (hopefully!!)☀️
We wanted to do a little post about heat stroke and other heat related illnesses in pets.
It's really important that during the warmer weather we keep a close eye on what's going on with our pets.
Some pets are more at risk of heat stroke than others, such as;
🐾Brachycephalic breeds (flat faced)
🐾Overweight animals
🐾More energetic animals (they don't know when to stop!)
🐾Older pets
🐾Bigger doggos (over 50kg)
🐾Pets with thicker fur
🐾Pets that already have pre existing health issues, especially issues with breathing or heart conditions.

It's not only dogs that can suffer in the heat. Cats and small furries such as rabbits and guinea pigs also feel the effects of the heat. It's especially important to keep an eye on small furries, making sure they have clean housing and bottoms, as they can get flystrike (where flys lay eggs on animals and hatch, causing major trauma and sometimes death).

There are lots of ways to keep your pets cool in the heat and we'd love to see how you do it! Here's some ideas of our own ☀️

🌊Make sure your pet has access to plenty of fresh water, you can even freeze water bottles to put in small furries housing.
🌊Use cool mats and cool coats and cool bandanas. These are easily purchased from Amazon, B&M, home bargains etc.
🌊Some dogs love a swimming pool, you could put one in the garden for them to play in and keep cool (just make sure they aren't drinking excessive amounts of water)
🌊Allow access to plenty of shade.
🌊Try putting a floor tile in small furries housing, for rabbits or guinea pigs to lay on and keep cool.
🌊Those of you who are social media whizz kids will have seen the frozen doggo bowls with fruit in, these are really cool but make sure that the fruits and veggies being used are safe for your pet to consume.

If you have any concerns about your pet during the hot weather, please phone on 01245 807518 for veterinary advice 🐶🐱🐰🐹
