Both Sarah Paws To Sleep and myself feel incredibly fortunate to support both wonderful pets and their owners. To receive such a wonderful review is testament to the care, dedication and love we give each and every customer we support.

The reality of pet loss is incredibly tough and it’s not uncommon for customers to describe their loss as greater than that of losing their parents, such is the pain of saying goodbye to their companion.

We know it’s hard to talk about, but what if you did everything you could at the end of their life and found out that pet loss can be painfully perfect? The pain is a direct reflection of the love, bond and impact our pets have on our lives and we don’t want to take that away from you. The reality is that saying goodbye to your pet in the comfort of your own home, a place they feel safe, a place filled with love makes a huge difference to the experience, allowing you to be you on such a difficult day. I’ve walked into a veterinary reception having said goodbye to my wonderful English Bull Terrier (Cola) and the tears, snot and shocked look in the faces of those in the reception will stay with me forever. It’s certainly something I will never do again and I believe this made my journey through the grief far more difficult than it needed to be. I don’t know of anyone, or anything that wouldn’t want to be surrounded by those they love, and those that love them, in a safe, familiar place when they take their last breath.

Our aim is not to tell people what to do, but to raise awareness of the choices they have. It’s your pet and therefore it’s your choice as to what you do when the time comes to say goodbye. Yes, it’s more expensive to have a home euthanasia, but it’s a fraction of the cost of pet ownership and is absolutely the right choice, given their unconditional love for us during their short lives.

The service Sarah offers is nothing ishort of amazing. We have worked alongside each other for over two years, and each and every time I see the care, support and love she gives to her customers, I feel incredibly lucky to be able to compliment her service through Atypical Pet Crematorium and to continue the great care that both Sarah and the owners have given throughout the pets life ❤️

It’s the last thing we do for our pets, and I wouldn’t want anything less for my big baby Bruce when the time comes. If you have a pet, or have a relationship with someone that does, all I ask is that you start the conversation about choice ❤️

These are the beautiful new urns Matt and I have collaborated on ❤️.

Matt has been incredibly supportive of my vision since I began, and with him recently taking the plunge and following his passion, I feel very lucky to be part of his journey and believe we will be working together for many many years to come 🙏🏻

We are currently trialling some wonderful new colours to reflect the joy our pets bring us and I can’t wait to share these images once they have been fired 🤩

Ashley at Atypical Pet Crematorium and I recently received this lovely testimonial from C&A near Monmouth and this super-gorgeous photo.

"Dear Sarah and Ashley
It’s two weeks now since we lost Archie and this is still a very hard email to write but it’s also a very necessary one, because the work you both do is so valuable. You make the unbearable bearable.
Archie was a pretty typical rescue collie – hyper-anxious, hyper-suspicious, hyper-alert. We always knew that, when the end came, we couldn’t take him in to our vet (however lovely she might be) because his stress levels would have gone off the charts. He would have fought death just as hard as he’d fought so much of his early life. So, to have him safe at home in his favourite bed, his head on our knees, so carefully and compassionately sedated, just able to relax and slowly, gently drift away – well, it was as good as it can be. It was the last gift we could give him and you both made it possible. You are very special people and we count ourselves lucky to have come across you when we did; as lucky as we were when we first came across Archie.
To anyone reading this who might be in any doubts about calling on Sarah’s service, don’t be: she is exceptional. Her kindness and gentleness with Archie made all the difference – to him and to us.
Look after yourselves – the work you both do must come at a considerable emotional cost and is all the more precious for that.
With love and thanks
C&A"

My world revolves around these two ❤️

This picture for me, is what dog ownership is about…. They are part of the family and as such they should be involved like a member of the family. These two advocate for each other, Jude learns how to behave around dogs and what not to do, and Bruce shows those who believe xl bully’s are all killers, that when raised correctly they can be great family pets.

All dogs have the potential to cause harm and much like car insurance, the bigger the risk the more responsibility should be shown and the greater the cost. Personally I believe that those that claim xl bully’s are big softie’s give people unrealistic expectations of the breed. I can assure you that if someone broke into my home, Bruce would be anything other than friendly; but he is also a big baby with his people and that’s ok for me. I grew up with a beautiful German shepherd named Rocky, who would have given his life to protect our family, he was a huge part of my childhood and Bruce is Jude’s Rocky to me ❤️.

I’m not saying that all xl bully’s behave like Bruce, but if you’re mixing guardian breeds with high prey drive breeds, let’s not expect a Laborador 🤔. But all our pets are unique and that’s what makes each and everyone so special ❤️

This video shows the emotion and love we have for our pets and the vulnerability required to have these conversations. Being able to support people and their pets through such a difficult time is such an honour ❤️American Standard Dog Training thank you for sharing your experience with others ❤️

Let’s be honest….. no one wants to talk about their pet passing and I completely understand this. It’s incredibly hard to contemplate that your best mate is nearing the end of their life 💔

I think that those that I have had the pleasure of supporting would agree, that the location, decor and general feel of is different to their expectations. I named the business to reflect my desire to be completely different from others and to encourage the celebration of life.

Unless you have an African grey parrot or tortoise, there is a very good chance you will outlive your pet!and I believe that in knowing and more importantly, accepting this, we can prepare, mourn and celebrate their life, providing them with the very best care throughout ❤️

It’s my mission to ensure that every pet owner is aware they have a choice and that pet loss doesn’t have to be horrendous, it can be painfully perfect too ❤️

If you or anyone you know could benefit from either the services I offer, or would like to speak with Sarah to be fully supported throughout their loss, please get in touch ❤️

Warning ⚠️ new stock & colours have landed ❤️

When I set up , my dream was to create memorial urns that are as unique as our pets. These urns are hand thrown and the lids individually turned to fit, with each one different from the other, just like our pets ❤️

Why go to the effort when the market is flooded with urns and caskets I hear you ask??? 😂

Well….. because having worked for a large pet crematorium, I have seen the 1000’s of identical products shipped in from overseas and quite frankly I don’t like them. They don’t (in my opinion) reflect the unique and special relationships we create with our pets and do little to sustain local businesses, or make the pet owner feel they have something special with which to remember the love they’ve lost ❤️

What’s the difference between these and the previous urns created by ? These urns have been made by who previously managed Winchcombe pottery and has left to pursue his own passion. Matt has been incredibly supportive throughout my journey and I wish to show the same support on his journey. Matt and I will be trialing new colours, shapes and designs in the future, so keep your eyes peeled 🤩

Bruce loves nothing more than a cuddle with Chase in the morning 🥰. I just can’t tell Jude that his teddy is Bruce’s toy too 🤫😂

But the main reason for this post is to say….. it’s a dog eat dog world out there!! Any small business owners will know the challenges, the fears and the sacrifices we make to achieve our dreams!

My challenges are raising awareness that You the pet owner has a choice, understanding that vet practices don’t want to work with me because they are contracted to use large commercial entities (I’ll say more about this when I have the capital to be sued 😂) and to share that pet loss needn’t be the s**t show most have either heard of or experienced and that it can be painfully perfect ❤️

To those small businesses that have weathered the storm, sacrificed holidays, family events and invested everything they have into chasing their dream. Keep doing what you’re doing. To everyone else, please support small businesses and help to bring balance back to a world where large companies dominate!

This one is a bit deep and may cause eyes to water ⚠️. Worth a read though!

There is one thing that both me and my customers share…. That’s our commitment to our pets. In many cases our pets lives are similar in length to the time it takes to raise a baby to a young adult. That’s watching your child take its first steps to teaching them to drive (⚠️let that sink in!).

I often refer to dogs as eternal toddlers, albeit ones that you can leave alone and not be jailed for! They require our guidance, understanding and above all care ❤️

So when you don’t want to talk about it because it’s too hard, that’s justified. When the pain of loosing them creates a barrier to getting another to protect our feelings, that’s justifiable too 💔. There is no right and wrong and I would never judge anyone’s choices. What I would do is encourage them to reach out, plan ahead and maybe, just maybe…. Using could be a way to change those outcomes to something like this
‘we shared a fantastic part of our lives together and when I’ve processed, taken the time I need; I would be grateful to love another soul and receive unconditional love in return’

Many our my customers use the word ‘perfect’ and they normally follow that with ‘that sounds odd, but…’
They then go on to say that its such a beautiful way to experience such a difficult thing. I believe that we owe a lifetime of unconditional love at fitting end, for your pet, but more importantly for you ❤️

Bruce loves being my copilot when we are out and about supporting pets and their owners. His navigation skills are always rewarded with kisses 😘☺️

Apart from the fact his head is huge in these photos, the main reason for this post, is to make people aware that you can say goodbye to your pet and have him/her collected and returned within 24hours without leaving your home? I don’t say this to reflect the ease at which many of us use our amazon prime accounts and the similarity; but to make people aware that this is a service that I am able to provide in partnership with Sarah

Home euthanasia is certainly something I will choose when the time comes to say goodbye to Bruce 💔. Why? Because I have been in the position where I had tears streaming down my face, snot pouring from my nose and I had to enter the reception of a vet practice in no fit state to do so 😭

Home euthanasia and collection and delivery costs are greater than if you were to use your vet practice and make the final journey to me yourself; however, for some people this cost allows the freedom to be entirely you and entirely present when the time comes to say goodbye ❤️

After a hard week testing out the new 😂Bruce loves nothing more than relaxing with his dad on the sofa 😴.

I feel very fortunate to share my life with Bruce and while I hope I will outlive him; I know that one day I’ll look back at these photos of Bruce in his prime and be grateful to have had such a loyal, handsome and caring dog in my life ❤️

On a gratitude note. Thank you to all my customers old and new, who say the most lovely things about the service they have received and have had the courage to differ from the norm and trust their loved ones in my care.

Vet’s rarely have an in-house facility to cremate your pet, meaning the great care they gave you in the practice may be a far cry from the contractor/third party that do provide this service on their behalf. It’s not my job to tell people what to do, but it is my responsibility to raise awareness of the choices we have as pet owners!

After being pestered by Bruce for weeks to make him look like a bouncer at work, I finally gave in 🙄😂
