‘The clip hasn’t lasted long at all!’

The change in daylight hours is what triggers the winter coat change and growth -
In the UK, horse’s coats tend to start changing from (roughly) early September and can continue to grow in reasonably quickly through to the winter solstice, at which point the coat growth will slow down.

You’ll find that clips between September-December don’t ’last as long’ as clips done in the New Year. This is because the winter coat is continually growing until the solstice.
Natives/cobs/heavies tend to be on the hairier side, so some may need clipped every 4 weeks (give or take) if you want to keep them neat.
Whereas warmblood/TB/finer types may only need clipped 2/3 times over the whole winter, as they tend to grow a finer coat.

This is a rough guide, not a set in stone rule!
Every horse is different, and there are a lot of factors to consider -
• Age
• Breed
• Coat type (thick/fine/dense/long…)
• Health (Cushing’s Disease, EMS etc)
• Weight
• Workload
• Routine (in/out)
• Or, just like people - they can be hairy/not so hairy, no matter what the breed of horse is!

Hello everyone

Here we go again! The 2024/2025 season is underway and I’m already super busy but loving seeing all my regulars again! I would like to remind you of my pricing and Terms and Conditions.

Please can all bookings be made via my Fresha Link, this is the best way I can keep up with my diary and where all Clipping consent forms are held. We all know I’m not the best with admin and I am still working full time too.. You will also receive text reminders prior to your appointment.

For this season, I have reduced my hours and will usually only clip on either a Saturday or Sunday and doing fewer evenings as I am training for the London Marathon over the winter, so please book in nice and early! 📆

Hi everyone!

I’m now back from my holiday and my clippers are now finally fixed so we are rearing to go!

I am now taking bookings again for my summer clips and Cushings customers, so please get booked in advance, I am busy this summer ☀️

Of course competition grooming and plaiting will continue as usual. 😃

Just a note to say that I’m now on holiday and won’t be available until 1st June.

Hopefully by then, my clippers will also be fixed and returned and we’ll be ready to rock and roll again! 🤞🏼

Just a polite notice, as per my terms and conditions if you want to cancel your appointment within 24 hours there is a cancellation fee of 50%. It is 100% if you cancel within 12 hours.

I have very little time for clips around my full time job and I do not have the time to chase anyone or try and fill last minute spaces. I’m very lenient and understanding but I’m getting a little frustrated.

I will waive the fee in 2 instances- a re-booking date within 2 weeks of the original date or a vet note.

If you cancel your appointment and I cannot contact you, you will be blocked from using my booking system and I will not be clipping for you again.

PLEASE guys, I don’t want to have to start capturing card details on Fresha…
