Gloucestershire Animal Welfare Association and Cheltenham Animal Shelter rescues and re-homes unwanted and abandoned stray cats, dogs and small animals from across Gloucestershire. To ensure they can provide essential care the abandoned animals it looks after they have decided to upgrade the existing grooming parlour. Short Bark and sides is located onsite at Cheltenham Animal Shelter and has two

full time groomers. Both tending to the needs of those residents who may require a bath or trim and also serving the public, clipping, trimming and giving a bit of TLC to their clients pets. All profits from SBAS will will help provide the stray and abandoned animals at Cheltenham Animal Shelter with food, warmth and any necessary veterinary treatment required.

Following our recent announcement of an exciting opportunity for us to open a second charity shop in the iconic Cavendish House building, we are looking for a team of staff and volunteers to help make this new venture a big success.

We are recruiting paid Manager and Assistant Manager roles, as well as several volunteers to help with the day-to-day running of the shop.

This is a fantastic opportunity to get involved from the outset and help shape the project to make sure it realises its full potential.

Our current on-site charity shop has raised almost £600,000 to help our homeless cats, dogs and small animals since it opened in 2013 and is a vital source of income for the Shelter. So, by helping us expand into a second premises, you will be making a real difference to the lives of pets in need.

This week is Volunteers Week and what better way to help us celebrate than to join a team of friendly volunteers assisting in our on-site Charity Shop?

Our Charity Shop has raised over £580,000 since it opened in 2013 and this is thanks to our hardworking team of volunteers who serve customers, sort donations and stock shelves.

The shop is based at our site in Gardners Lane with free parking, and is open 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday and 11am to 3pm on Saturdays.

If you have items you would like to donate to the shop, please bring them along during shop opening hours.

Our charity shop is a major source of income for our work with rescue animals and most of our team are volunteers, so shopping with us really makes a big difference to the pets in our care. Thank you for your support!

Short Bark & Sides is located onsite at Cheltenham Animal Shelter and has three full time groomers.
