😺 Today, in England, it is a compulsory requirement to microchip your cat before it reaches the age of 20 weeks.
If your cat is older than 20 weeks and is not microchipped, book an appointment to have one implanted.
If your cat is already microchipped, the law also requires that the details associated with the chip be up to date, so please check that your pet's microchip details are up to date.
Skye is looking for her forever home.
She is on a home to home basis as we have no space to bring her in.
Skye is 5yrs old & just not settling since the recent family move.
She would prefer a home with no small children or other pets.
She’s a lap cat once she’s used to you but will need time to settle.
Please call Callum on 07901 371221 if you can help.
As we are half way through the week I want to say a massive THANK YOU to all of our Cats Protection Volunteers that give their time freely to help the cats and kittens across our area. You are all stars!
How wicked can some people be 😡

Still need fosterers 🙏🏻
FOSTERERS NEEDED
So far this year, we have homed many cats but could have helped a lot more, if only we had a foster home to put them in!
If you can provide a safe space and some TLC, we will provide everything else, including full training and covering expenses.
If you live in the Cheltenham, Tewksbury, Churchdown or other surrounding areas and are interested in knowing more about fostering, we would love to hear from you 🙏🏻 Please email us on [email protected]
or go to our website and click on the volunteering tab.
**Please be aware that we are looking for volunteers who are actively interested in caring for cats or kittens on a temporary basis before they go to a new home. This role is different to adopting a pet for yourself.**

Pudding is a 10 year old neutered female black DSH.
We have started her on a weight loss food which she is eating well.
This will need to continue for a while, shes rather chucky.
She was signed over to us as she was getting stressed at home & urinating. On examination We have scanned her bladder and nothing abnormal detected. She has been urinating well in her litter tray here.
She is incredibly affectionate and has stolen all our hearts!
Can you offer her a peaceful home? Call 0345 3712730
As you will be aware, the next UK General Election will be taking place on Thursday 4 July 2024. This means we've now got some exciting news on upcoming legislation we've been campaigning to be introduced.
Today is the final day Parliament can pass new laws before the election.
I'm delighted to share with you the tremendous news that the Pet Abduction Bill has completed its remaining stages in Parliament. This will make cat theft in England and Northern Ireland a specific offence.
This important change recognises the emotional and welfare impact of a cat being stolen and will help to prevent thefts from taking place. As you may remember, initial government proposals on pet theft didn’t include cats, so it is wonderful that our campaigning efforts have been successful to give cats and dogs the same protections.
We are delighted to share with you this lovely letter we received, with pictures of Bruce, recently adopted through our branch. Approximately 3 years old, he was only with us a short time before he found a new home – he certainly looks very much at home.
‘Bruce has been with us for just over 2 weeks now and has settled right into our little family unit. It’s as though he's always been here. After 30 mins of hiding on his first night, he emerged purring and by the end of the first night was on our laps soaking up the attention while we watched tv. He’s now central to all activity - particularly in the afternoon/evening.
Bruce is now settling into his own little routine and has even started to explore outside at his leisure. He's a really happy, chatty little cat and we are spoiling him as much as possible. I couldn’t imagine life without him now.
I just wanted to say how brilliant the adoption process was, it was very easy for us to adopt Bruce. The process was quick and hassle free from the moment I called to the adoption process itself. Plus, all of the volunteers at Cats Protection were very helpful and friendly, in particular Dot - Bruce's foster carer. Dot was absolutely amazing. She’s a real credit to the charity and it was lovely to meet her and hear about her work fostering over 70 cats!
Thank you for everything, it’s a pleasure to give Bruce a new home. He really is our dream cat and we're very happy to have him with us. Maria’

It's not that long ago that this 4 year old, beautiful grey tabby, called Secret, found herself a new human in a loving home. So we are delighted to hear that Secret has definitely made herself at home.
Her new human wrote to say: 'Secret is an indoor cat and was very anxious to start with, spending most of first few weeks at her new home hiding. Nearly 3 months on she is much happier and even shares “her sofa” with her human.'

Handsome Zizou is looking for a home that has the time to give him the live he deserves. He is still with his owners so are looking to do a home to home.
Unfortunately his family do not have the time to look after Zizou anymore due to a growing family.
Zizou is 8yrs old and a very affectionate boy.
If you can offer this beautiful boy a home please email [email protected].

Little Tatty is adorable, now free of the “lampshade collar” and healing well. Her agility seems completely unaffected by her missing leg and she loves playing with toys, leaping high into the air and dashing around the room. She is very sociable and loves to snuggle up on the settee, and always calls a greeting when we enter the room.
She spends hours watching through the French Windows everything that moves in the garden, from squirrels and pigeon to a bee and fly!
We feel sure she will make someone a wonderful companion.
She would be fine with children but no other pets

**REHOMED** A dear friend of our branch has asked us to help rehome Bubbles. Her dad sadly passed away a couple of months ago. Her dad had a lovely ginger tom cat called Bubbles, who followed him everywhere like a dog, and waves at you through the window. Bubbles is 13 years old, very affectionate and in good health but sadly does not get on with our friends dog, and so she is unable to give him a home. She has tried a few people that she thought might be willing to take him in but sadly no one can, so has asked if CP could find him a new home. he really does need to find another warm lap to sit on and watch tv, rather than hiding from a dog. Can you be that home? Please call us 0345 3712730
Just like us, our cats can be affected by warmer weather. It’s important for your cat to get enough water. This can be through drinking and through eating wet food. Staying hydrated will help to keep your cat healthy and they may need to have even more water when the weather is warm.
When temperatures start to creep up it’s important to keep an eye on your cat and make sure they stay safe in the sun...
Haribo is still looking for a home, had a few failed responses so please anyone can you give this lap cat a home please 🙏🏻
