Ralph never fails to provide entertainment here at Four Wet Paws 🐾 Ralph originally started in the underwater treadmill and thoroughly enjoyed splashing in the water and has now been upgraded to the pool. He started off being very very splashy but after 3 sessions, has found his flippers and is now a pro! ✨Saturday Spotlight- Pablo✨
Pablo was diagnosed with Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD) which is when the discs that separate the bone 🦴 in the spine degenerate causing pain and in many cases paralysis🩻. IVDD is a common condition for Dachshunds, with data showing typically 1 in 4 Dachshunds suffering from some degree of the condition during their lifetime😢
Pablo had spinal surgery and was paralysed post surgery. He was having twice weekly hydrotherapy sessions as well as doing physiotherapy exercises at home 💪🏼
Pablo couldn’t stand in the water on his own for his first session and would rely on the buoyancy of the water to support him and would only walk with manual hindlimb guidance✋🏼 Pablo can now stand unassisted AND can walk in and out of the water! He is still a little wobbly but is continuing to progress and he always puts 100% into his hydrotherapy sessions💦 especially because they involve squeezy cheese 🧀 or squeaky toys🦴

Well, wow…. What a year 2023 has been. Since opening our doors in February I cant quite believe what we have achieved😁. So many amazing clients and their beloved dogs who have all become almost family to us here🐶. Through some equipment issues and diary issues you have all been so amazingly patient with us and also welcoming our amazing Livi to the team👩🏼⚕️. We wanted to put something together that takes us through the year in pictures, you will notice that we have hidden all the cheese and treats from view🧀! Lol
I would like to say a huge thank you to all our clients for your support this year and we are really looking forward to an amazing 2024! Wishing you all a very Happy New Year, enjoy 😊

✨Saturday Spotlight- Inca✨
Inca originally came to us for some fun swims and just generally a good time due to her being diagnosed with an Osteosarcoma (bone cancer💔). This means she had weakness through one of her back legs. Inca loves swimming and it meant she could do something she loves that is low impact to reduce the risk of damaging the leg.
Inca was beginning to show increased signs of discomfort and it was decided that she would have her leg amputated🦵🏼This has resulted in her being pain free and allowing her to be her happy playful self!
Inca now has Physiotherapy with Olivia in the centre as well as her favourite hydrotherapy in the pool🥰 We will continue to support and help Inca to the best of our ability to ensure she has the best quality of life she can have❤️🩹
