The aim of Rocky's Rescue is to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome the dogs we save. Rocky's Rescue was set up by Jean Corbett.
She fostered a dog named Rocky and loved him so much, she decided to name the rescue after him. As well as adopters, we are also looking for fosterers in all areas to take care of our dogs until we can find them a permanent home. We have lots of experience and are here for advice and guidance at any time. All our dogs are spayed/neutered except our puppies who may be too young. They are all vaccinated, vet checked and microchipped.
We haven't published a Happy Furever homes post for quite a few weeks but that doesn't mean that no dogs have been rehomed quite the opposite. Not all the dogs we promote find homes in the UK but we feel they deserve to be acknowledged anyway as we did our part in raising interest in them.
We have featured a few of the dogs here and wish them all a good life in the furever homes.

This is Milli a two years old lovely lady. She is fully vaccinated, spayed, microchipped and treated for fleas and worms and tested for Brucellosis.
Milli grew up on the street before being picked up and put in the shelter. Three or four months ago she was taken out of the shelter and placed in a boarding house with a family. She is a medium-sized dog, up to 25 kg, and is a hunting dog mix. She is good with other dogs, she doesn't mind cats.

Every once in a while we come across a dog who just never seems to produce any interest. Sassy is one of those dogs. We have been searching for over a year to find a home and family for her to no avail and we cannot understand why. However, we will not give up on her and the search goes on. . .

Josie was born on the street. She was very small when a man took the litter and mum and placed them in garage. The rescuer checked out the place and knew they had to move the dogs from there. They were covered in parasites, afraid, dirty, etc . Josie and her siblings were only small puppies when they came to the shelter where she is still waiting to be rehomed.
Josie is about 2.5 years old, medium to large dog with no medical issues. She gets on well with adults, children and dogs but cannot be tested with cats. She is fully vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, treated for fleas and worms and has tested negative for Brucellosis and Leishmania.
Next month Josie can move to the foster home where she will live in the house and learn a lot of things what will (we hope) help her to find forever home easier.

I am a gorgeous 3 years old boy born in Bosnia, near Sarajevo. My name is Mrki and I have lived in the shelter my whole life. I was found as a puppy with my mother and siblings when I was a few days old. Max is one of the 13 siblings that were born and raised in shelter. He is a beautiful, well socialised dog who has met many dogs in his 3 years in the shelter and he gets on well with all of them. Meet Aska.
Aska was rescued from the street to be neutered and released because there was no space for taking on another dog in the shelter. However, it was found out that people were being cruel to her, throwing stones at her and she could not stay on the street. She is a 5 year old Labrador/Hound mix - gorgeous and very friendly, trusting, confident and loyal to people. She arrived in a poor state, very skinny and full of small cuts and injuries, yet was trusting and gentle with rescuers. She has now been in our care for several years and she has been a really good dog. She is much happier and healthier - ready to find her forever home.
Aska has learnt to walk well on the lead, only pulling a little bit at the beginning of the walk out of excitement. She loves being outside and would be best suited with an outdoorsy family. Aska is great with male dogs and socialises well but unfortunately, she does not like all female dogs so a home with a male dog or as an only dog would be recommended for her.

This is Nume, a very friendly dog with a heartbreaking past. At 15 months old, Nume endured a traumatic start - as a puppy, he was abandoned on the streets, where he faced unimaginable cruelty. His head was smashed, he was beaten, but Nume found help from some hoomans in a most unexpected place.
He was befriended by many kind hoomans from a local grocery store and coffee shop, where he received regular meals, cuddles, and kindness. To protect Nume from harm, we had to place him in foster care until we can secure his forever home. With the help of generous donations from individuals with hearts of gold, Nume has been given the necessary vaccinations, sterilization, and ongoing care.
Despite his past, Nume's wounds are healing, and he's blossoming into a 40-50 kg gentle giant. He gets along well with other dogs and cats, is playful, and carries a heart full of gratitude towards those who showed him love in his darkest hours.
