As a hardworking primary teacher, I felt I shouldn’t have a dog. I argued against it: I spent too much time out of the house, was too busy etc etc. Fast forward several years and after lots of anguished debate, my family got a puppy in summer 2016. I was totally smitten. Marley quickly became “my” dog. In July 2017, my daughter turned 16. A milestone age which called for a holiday somewhere hot and involving a plane journey (I was reliably informed by my daughter!). So Marley couldn’t come, and this left me with a dilemma. Who could I trust to take care of him whilst I was away? To give him a temporary home from home so that he wouldn’t pine for me? To provide him with some doggy friends to socialise with, some humans to cuddle up with and someone who would keep me updated so that I could have peace of mind whilst away? To cut a long story short, I found just the ticket, but it wasn’t easy. This process inspired me. I could do this!!! After some more anguished debating, I decided to take a break from teaching to indulge my other passion: dogs. So began the process of obtaining my boarding licence, insurance, canine first aid certificate and most importantly, guests!!
Marley is a sociable dog, who enjoys company - both canine and human - and is happiest in a homely environment . He would not thrive in a very busy place with lots of dogs and limited human contact. I adore my dog and he is the inspiration for my business ethos, which is to provide a home for your dog(s) - on a temporary basis - as and when you need one. If you board your dog with me, or use my day care service, you can rest assured that I will care for your dog as if he/she was my own. This means plenty of physical exercise, mental stimulation, love, cuddles and boundaries which echo your own.
Thanks for reading this; hope to see your dog soon. If you don’t have one (really???!!!!) then get one. You know where to go when you need a boarder/walker!
