Considering the government’s recent announcement to place XL Bully type dogs on the DDA (Dangerous Dog Act), we have spoken to our insurance company and we will be covered to work with XL Bully breeds providing the following is adhered to

We will be able to cover banned breeds, subject to them having an exemption certificate.

It is a condition precedent to liability that for any dog which is a banned breed under the dangerous dogs act 1991 and/or as subsequently amended within the united kingdom the following guidelines are strictly adhered to whilst the dog is in your care, custody or control:

1. The dog is registered with the index of exempted dog (IED) and a copy of the life certificate is obtained and provided to us in the event of a claim.

2. A copy of the public liability insurance certificate for the dog is obtained and provided to us in the event of a claim.

3. The dog handler ratio is 1:1 at all times.

4. All guidelines under the index of exempted dogs are strictly adhered to and the dog must be:

i. Neutered

ii. Micro Chipped

iii. Kept on a lead and muzzled at all times

iv. Kept in a secure place, so it cannot escape

We have been working hard with this little fella called Wally! He is an absolute Wally around other dogs (in fact he wants to kill them). Between James and myself we have been working with him and this is our 7th session with him and bingo he can now sit in van with other dogs around 😍. We started introducing dogs as he is off to vets next week for castration and we wanted to help his stay at vets more relaxing without being sedated and we will progress to the real world once he can control his desire to kill! Wally is a rescue dog and was found tied to a fence post so we have no record of his past his owners are desperate for him to feel more comfortable passing other dogs at a distance. Both myself and James have been working closely with his owners and will share his progress with you but for now Wally your a little super star 😍😍

I have to share this video of Elaine and Jasper. Jasper has come so far I am so proud of him 😍. When Elaine asked me about doing agility she wasn’t sure he would cope with being in a field with me let alone focus on job in hand, he’s a worry wart and is scared of people we spent the first few sessions just getting to know me and now he plays tuggy with me and brings his ball for me to throw for him (still can’t have a cuddle though but that’s fine). Super proud of you Jasper well done Elaine for doing the best for your boy 💕

Great page to find out what your actually feeding your dog!! Most people have no idea research is the key. Food can be a factor to all sorts of behaviours

Updated 40+ brands today, with new pricing and ingredients including Tesco Complete. Unfortunately the update did nothing to improve their nutrition score (links in comments).

Yes it is cheap but we struggled to find any other positives. 4% total meat - enough said.

It is easy to cast judgement on people feeding this food, but unless you understand food labels (which many people do not, even for human food) then it is easy to see why this type of product continues to be popular.
