because I'm environmentally conscious I cycle as my main form of transport so I am only available for walks and for drop-ins in Chepstow and the immediate area (5 m

ile radius from my home in Bulwark)

I'm also available to visit cats and other small furries

Please contact me for more information or/and to arrange a meet and greet. I am fully insured, hold a recent clear DBS and canine first aid.

Hi all,

As you all know I set up my business to run part time whilst I was completing my Masters degree.

I'm coming towards the end of my degree now with a dissertation hand in at the end of January so I've decided that the 8th of January will be my last day as Adventure Pups (as there will be a few weeks stress and crying before hand in probably ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿซฃ).

It's been an amazing 18 months of walking/sitting and hanging out with your pups and I'll miss them lots ๐Ÿ˜” but I'm sure I will see you all kicking around Chepstow ๐Ÿ˜.

I'm still free for walks and visits up until and including the 8th so if needed before then please let me know.

Love Vicki ###

P.s. I'll arrange key drop offs etc closer to the date with you guys.

Please keep away from Chepstow Park woods right now due to suspected Alabama Rot.

Two dogs have succumbed to suspected Alabama Rot, which we currently believe was contracted in the Chepstow Park Ponds area. Please try to avoid the area with your dog until the cases are confirmed and we can advise you further. In the meantime if you have been walking in the area and your dog shows any of the following signs please take them to your vet immediately.

Signs of Alabama Rot:

Skin sores, visible swelling, red patch or skin defects not caused by a known injury. These skin lesions typically appear below the knee or elbow, and occasionally on the face or at the bottom of the chest or abdomen.

Changes in appetite - reduced appetite, drinking more, vomiting and lethargy are signs of acute kidney injury.

Posting this again in case anyone is struggling to get holiday pet care :)

Hi all,

I've had a few requests that I've had to decline for holiday sitting over the summer due to being booked up or unavailable.

I know many people have issues in finding someone to look after their pets whilst they go away be that professional sitters, borders, kennels or even family that's unavailable or perhaps it's unaffordable for people.

If you don't need a professional to look after your pets, you could take a look at Trusted Housesitters. It's a website where you sign up and pay a yearly membership fee and where people will come and stay at your house and look after your pets for free in exchange for accommodation whilst they are travelling. It means your dogs can stay in their own home and follow their own routine.

I use the website myself and have people come and stay at my home and look after my dogs when I go away and have always had positive experiences. I'm also a sitter on the site and when I travel I look after other people's pets in their own how on exchange for free accommodation. Although I'm a professional sitter most people are not.

Please note: this site would only be beneficial for people who have pets that are relatively easy to look after e.g. if your pet is reactive, anxious, has separation anxiety (the sitters are on holiday so they would expect to be able to leave the house without your pets for a few hours per day) or anything else that may mean your pet would be better with a professional then the site would not be suitable I'm afraid.

Usually you will not meet sitters until the day you leave for your trip unless you agree that they arrive early however it's normal to arrange video calls with them before they arrive and you can also read their reviews from their previous sits on the website to gain trust.

If you have any questions about my experience please let me know and I'll be happy to answer and if you're interested in joining up you can use my referral link below for 25 percent off your yearly joining fee.

It could be a good option for people who are struggling to get pet care :)

Hi everyone,

Just updating everyone on my services.

As all of my clients know, I run my dog business part time alongside studying for my Masters

I have lots of holiday sits booked in up until the end of October that will be 100% going ahead, however I will no longer be taking anymore NEW bookings for either overnight sits or the 6 hour sits that I offered.

I have 2 of my own dogs and after summer my husband who works from home and looks after our dogs whilst I'm sitting, has to start going in to the office more frequently. This means that long sits are too difficult logistically going forward as I will need to spend more time at home with my own dogs.

Like I said, please do not worry about any sits you already have booked in with me as this doesn't affect them in any way, but I will not be taking anymore NEW bookings for sitting going forward.

I do ofcourse still offer my usual dog walks and 30-60 minute pop in/comfort breaks.

Thanks for reading :)

P.S. This is a picture of my dog Khaleesi as ring bearer at my wedding 5 years ago today ๐Ÿ˜

Hello everyone,

This dorky looking mucky pup is my dog Khaleesi - Mother of sausages.

Yesterday for the second time in 2 years Khaleesi took a trip to the emergency vet because she was stumbling, had a weird spaced out look on her face, was shaking and began throwing up.

This time I thought I knew what it was and off to the vet we went. As I suspected the vet said it's likely Khaleesi had ingested cannabis or it could have been mould from food.

Khaleesi usually has good recall but she is a bit of a scavenger and yesterday we were in the steep little woods with the steps in that lead from Bulwark to Garden city and she went missing for just a couple of minutes. She wouldn't come when called so I knew she had found something to eat ๐Ÿ™„. Eventually she bounded back to us happy and tail wagging and we headed home. About 2 hours later Leesi started stumbling about then being sick.

As I said this has happened in the past. Last time I saw her quickly eat something before I managed to stop her was in Warren slade woods just under the bridge at the bottom of the hill on the right looking over the river.

Anyway, Khaleesi is fine, she was home the same night after some treatment with an ยฃ800 vet bill (thankfully she is well insured).

So just a warning about these areas when walking your dogs and also a reminder to consider pet insurance if you haven't already.

Signs to look for when a dog has eaten cannabis:
-Stumbling
-Lethargic
-Dilated pupils
-Incontinence
-Vomiting
-Shaking
-Agitation

It's fairly easy to treat at the vet but is very scary to see (the first time I thought my dog was having a stroke or something) and will land you with a big bill.

I will be more careful about where I allow her off lead in future...
