The Just for Schools (JFS) Winter Championships are just around the corner, taking place in March at the David Broome Event Centre🤩

With a whole host of classes from JFS League classes through to the Individual and Team Championship Finals, it is a great opportunity for all our JFS members to experience the atmosphere that a championship show provides🎉 Even if you haven’t qualified for the Finals there are still many classes that JFS members can participate in so, please do take time to look at the schedule👀

James Broome commented: “We are committed to giving a first class experience to all the ‘Just for Schools’ members. We have really enjoyed watching these Winter Championships grow each year and can’t wait to welcome everyone again in March for what promises to be a fantastic event.”

💥Casual staff wanted for the summer season at the David Broome Event Centre.💥
Applicants must be hardworking, reliable, and enjoy working outside. Positions are physical and can be long hours. No previous experience required. Position open to anyone 16 and above.
Positions such as -
🌟 Arena Party - this involves, working as part of a team, building courses under the supervision of the Course Designers and maintaining the course/arenas during the show which consists of - Picking up poles, moving the fences and general maintenance of the collecting arenas. The applicant must always be aware of their surroundings while in the arena.
🌟Arena Steward – – this involves ensuring that the next competitor is ready for their allocated slot in the arena. We are looking for someone who is confident to communicate with officials and competitors in an appropriate manner and work in a team.
🌟Catering units- this involves preparation and cooking of food. Using a barista machine and making a variety of coffees. General other duties including cleanliness and serving customers. Free parking and free lunch on shift.

‼ It is important that the applicant is reliable and punctual. Hours can vary dependent on the business of the show, mainly Thursday-Monday however midweek can also be available. ‼

🌅 As the Sun Sets on the Wales & West 2024 Season… 🌟

What a season it has been! Over 33 days of competition since April, we’ve braved rain, wind, and plenty of sunshine. We’ve celebrated with rock bands, fancy dress parties, and champagne receptions, and we’ve seen record-breaking entries across Ride & Runs, Derbies, HOYS Qualifiers, Ranking Classes, and the Home Pony Teams. 🎉 But most of all, we’ve experienced the unforgettable Wales and West atmosphere – and for that, we owe it all to you, our loyal supporters. 🙏

These shows wouldn’t be possible without the tireless dedication of so many. Whether on the front lines or behind the scenes, each role matters, right down to making sure we never run out of essentials (imagine a toilet paper crisis! 😅).

To our judges, ring stewards, commentators, course designers, arena crew, medics, catering team, ground staff, photographers, office workers, riders, owners, sponsors, grooms, trainers, helpers, and loyal supporters – you are the heart and soul of Wales and West. Your efforts are what make this place truly special, and we are deeply grateful to every single one of you. 💙

🎉 What a Win for Taran Yate & Quel Spectacle! 🎉

A huge congratulations to long-time supporter Taran Yate for an incredible victory in today’s Welsh Jumping Derby, taking home the £600 prize! 🏆 Taran expertly held off strong competition from Peter White on PK Quantum and Emily Mould riding Hummer.

In the Senior 1.10m Derby, Ella Jones from Ancora Equestrian stole the spotlight with Leader Dakar, claiming the top spot! If Ella repeats her performance tomorrow, she’ll ride away with an Ancora Equestrian saddlecloth, kindly sponsored for the winners of all tomorrow’s derby classes! 🌟 Taran Yate also secured an impressive second place in this class, making it a triumphant day for Welsh riders on home turf!

🌕✨ A Once in a Blue Moon Victory! ✨🌕

Today was a day for the history books! Jessica Burke, riding the 13-year-old chestnut stallion African Affair, delivered a spectacular performance, winning the Equestrian Surfaces Big Tour Grand Prix by a huge margin! 🏆 She beat a seemingly unbeatable target set by Rachel Proudley with Petitfour Vd Wareslage by well over a second. What a ride! 🔥

We were honored to have Her Royal Highness Princess Haya join us today to present the prestigious King Hussein Trophy, generously donated by her father, The King, in 1994. She was joined by her daughter Princess Jalila, Tom Harper from our wonderful sponsors Equestrian Surfaces, and our very own legend, David Broome CBE, to congratulate all our incredible competitors. 🌟

A heartfelt thank you to all our riders, grooms, owners, supporters, officials, ring stewards, ground staff, arena party, medics, office staff, and catering team for making this show the busiest and best international event we’ve ever run! 🙌

We’re thrilled to welcome 591 combinations to this year's Chepstow Summer International! The turnout for today’s 1.40m Big Tour class was incredible, with 103 entries—so much so that we had to split the class and add an extra £3,000 in prize money! 🎉 What an amazing showcase of showjumping in Great Britain! 🇬🇧 It’s no wonder we’re Olympic Gold Medalists! 🥇

🌟 Sometimes, sport can be both heartbreakingly cruel and incredibly exhilarating. In showjumping, the line between these extremes can be thinner than a horse hair.

🚀 Rising star Mia Haf Bowen experienced this first hand, missing out on the Agria Leading Rider £1000 prize by just one-hundredth of a second! 🕒 That's how close it was, with the victory going to the fantastic Sydney Hampton France.
