So, not everything always goes to plan. An "old english saddlery" style horse halter in with a broken strap. Decided renewing & replicating the best answer. Wasn't happy with the result (though no one but me saw why), so off it came & start from scratch. "Ok" is not good or great, so done again it will be

Ok, so BCL actively campaign for better farming standards and all abattoirs to be CCTV monitored and controlled in animal treatment. Of course we use an animal product, a by product of the food chain, however we do not endorse animal cruelty and will strive to eradicate this as much as we can. We also do free work for any animal charity if and when needed. So, to be accused as a hypocrite by a so called lawyer who doesn't know UK libel laws and a a Chepstow troll known as Nick Harding (who needs a dictionary to find out what words mean) when we do all we can to be transparent is rather odd. We are OBVIOUSLY NOT vegetarian nor profess to be but we consciously source our materials, like a good butcher responsibly sources well cared for animals too.

So, these stunning beauties arrived today. The bright edges checked and are superb and, once the injuries to my hands sorted, they'll be refurbished and put back to the use they were created for. Think I will LOVE working with such beautiful and old tools...

An extremely busy Monday with the total (including repainting) rejuvenating of a brass plaque house sign. Then cold solder of and staining of a reproduction/reenactment pistol as well as the finishing of the prototype for the "Glass/Plastic Glass" holders for everyday or festival/fete use etc.
Add to that I've done me washing and some (only some) tidying up and meds sorting, lol, and it's been quite a day. Think I deserve a beer now

As expected with the 1st big Bank Holiday of the year, it's been a quiet weekend. However, I did get to rejuvenate what looked like a dead leather wrist band for someone that held fond memories as well as give the "choker" to it's new owner so we can see what is best to still do with it. I've also spoiled myself and made a cover for my Asus Zenphone6. So not been totally sat on me backside lol lol

Hope this gives you an idea of our scope. We are able to produce such a variety because we are small with little to no machinery. All hand worked and every piece is as personal to us as we hope it will be to you. Thanks all

This is a 1 1/2" width, 4mm thick belt made for a 32" waist. All work is, of course, hand done with support stress stitching all the way through and the keepers are stitched. Most keepers are metal staples that will rot the leather over time, we NEVER use this method.It is punched to be adaptable to fit just about any buckle of suitable width, from 2 or 3 pronged to a western style buckle with three screw in "chicago" brass rivets rather than poppers to allow ease of changing. This cost £40 all in and started from tthat piece of natural veg tanned leather posted before

See the size of this 4mm leather piece. The rear is just like velvet & such a joy to work with. (So much so, I'm even making myself a new belt)
