Not all dogs need a lot of trimming, in fact some breeds don’t need any, but they do need a clean and a good de-shed. It’s important to remove all the old shedding coat to keep the skin in good condition and prevent the coat from getting compacted and matting. 😊🐶

HAPPY NATIONAL DOG DAY!🥰

Today we are really excited to be celebrating National Dog day.
National Dog Day celebrates all dogs, from mixed breed to pure. To recognize the number of dogs that need to be rescued each year. Also family dogs and dogs that work each day to save lives, keep us safe and bring comfort for the disabled and now they're detecting cancer and seizures...things even humans cannot do.
Dog's are truly amazing and we love them all! 🐕

This is the lovely ruffles who is a regular dog for a De-shed groom and ultra sound teeth cleaning with Scally wags. He was quite nervous when I first started grooming him, but now he is the keenest of all to fly into the van and into the bath, he just can’t wait. 🛁 🐶but can anyone notice anything about him in the first picture that needed attention today? You might need to zoom in for a closer look!?👀

Not all dogs need their coat cut, in fact some double coated breeds like Oliver the collie should have a de-shed groom. You can see from this video made today how much under coat he has shedding, my van is full!! 😂 double coated breeds need regular de-shed grooms to remove all the shedding under coat to prevent it compacting then getting matted and making the dog hotter. Oliver is now nice and cool in his lighter coat after losing a huge amount of hair today ❤️🐶

It’s a very warm day out so I hope everyone is taking extra care of their 4 legged friends in the heat. Luckily Scally wags dog grooming van has an air con unit so can continue to groom safely and very comfortably in the warmer weather. As you can see Arthur was very happy today chilling right in front of the aircon ❤️🐶🍦☀️

⛔ NO!

The effects of periodontal disease doesn't remain confined to a dog's mouth - it can lead to problems with major organs (heart, liver, and kidneys. ) when bacteria from the mouth enters the bloodstream and can also cause heart disease which attaches to the arteries surrounding the heart.

Dental Disease can decrease a dogs life span by 2 years!!
