🐾 What’s a tenrec I hear you cry?! Only the best animal in the world!
You will have to come along and find out why they are terrific ! 💚

🐾 This will take place at 12.15pm and 2.30pm on both days!

🐾 Meet Bluey Day!! 🐾

Friday 16th August 2024

🐾 Our second special day of the summer!
Meet and greet with the wonderful Bluey!

You will get the opportunity to meet and have a photo with Bluey at either 1pm or 2pm. This is to manage numbers and give everyone the opportunity to meet Bluey.

🐾 On entry you will be given a treasure hunt sheet to find pictures of Bluey around the Nature Centre, once you have found them, bring them back and get a prize!

🐾 This ticket will also allow a visit to Cedars Nature Centre between 10am and 5pm (Last entry at 4.45pm).

Animal talks will take place as follows (weather permitting).

10:45am – Meerkat Feed and Talk
11.30am - Fish Feed and Talk
12.15pm – Mystery Animal Meet and Greet
1.45pm - Rat Meet and Greet
2.30pm - Mystery Animal Meet and Greet
3.15pm – Kookaburra Talk
4.00pm - Meerkat Feed and Talk

🐾 Tickets for this event will be prebookable only (unless you have an annual membership ) due to popularity. We expect tickets to sell very quickly for this event.

£5 per person (Adults and Children 2yr+)
Under 2's and Cedars Nature Centre members FREE.

🐾 Our most popular event of the year! 🐾

𝗣𝗼𝗸𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝘆!

Friday 9th August 2024

🐾 thats right our very popular Pokemon day is making a triumphant return in collaboration with Youth Create Does Parties

Come visit us and our animals in our Pokémon themed day!

🐾 Ash Ketchum character appearance between 12-1pm. Ash will be on stage to say hello to everyone and you will even have the chance to meet and have a photo with Ash too!

🐾 Pokemon Card swap station open all day. This will take place in our outdoor classroom, bring your cards and swap with others!

🐾 Animal talks will take place as follows (weather permitting).

10:45am – Meerkat Feed and Talk
11.30am - Fish Feed and Talk
12-1pm – Ash Ketchum Character Appearance
1.45pm – Rat Meet and Greet
2.30pm - Pokemon Inspired Animal Talk

☀️ 6 Weeks of Cedars! ☀️

🐾 Are you ready for summer? Well Cedars Nature Centre has you covered!

🐾 This summer we have a whole range of events planned for you.

🐾 Pokémon day is back as is our Meet Bluey day!

🐾 We will also be running our popular endangered species week, reptile week and the big zoo quiz week!
PLUS A brand new week for you to get involved in will be Whose Poo at The Zoo? Week!

🐾 Please note that Bluey and Pokemon day must be prebooked and tickets for these events sell very quickly. We will be launching the tickets for those tomorrow so please keep an eye out for the booking link! Tickets for Bluey and Pokemon Day are £5pp and everyone including adults must have a ticket.

🐾 This months zoo club is… Reptiles!

🐾 Join us on the 28th July for our Zoo Club meeting!
This month our theme is reptiles!
Learn all about reptiles, meet tortoises, a lizard and a snake.
Make your very own paper plate snake and even take home a piece of shed snake skin!

The minimum age of the Zoo Club is 4 years+

🐾 The session time is 10-11am.
This will be taking place in the meeting room within Cedars Park.

🐾 Big Announcement Time!

🐾 After our highly successful After Hours Zoo Tour in May we will be bringing it back throughout the summer holidays!

🐾 The dates are 25th July, 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th August.

🐾 Join a zoo keeper as they take you on a tour of Cedars Nature Centre whilst we are closed to the public!
You will get to meet and stroke lots of animals along the way!

🐾 This event has purposefully been made to be as interactive as possible for all age groups and so our tickets are limited to 20 people. You will then be split into two groups of ten to take part in the tour.

🐾Session time - 6pm-7pm. This event is £10 per person.

🐾 We expect this event will sell out quickly so please don’t delay if you are thinking about joining us!

🐾 We are very excited to announce our new arrivals!!!

🐾 Meet our burrowing owls!🦉🦉

🐾 Burrowing owls are found throughout the Americas and are really unusual because they spend lots of time on the ground and use the burrows of ground squirrels to roost and lay their eggs.

🐾 They have very long legs compared to other owls and this helps them to run along the ground and into the burrows!

🐾 Our two females currently do not have names, so keep an eye out for a naming competition in the next few weeks!

🐾 This enclosure refurbishment was possible thanks to a kind donation in remembrance of an animal loving friend of ours. Thank you.
