Back to fleas! Please purchase a flea comb and check daily for fleas. I am not suggesting you treat with chemicals but there are natural treatments out there that can kill off fleas and eggs. I groom at my home and it’s not fare on me or my dogs if you are bringing in flea’s.
Thanks guys 😊

Please take note. If your dog has fleas I will request it is collected before the groom is completed and I will charge for treatment of my salon.
Thank you.

[NOTE: This photo is just picture of a pond in the summer. NOT a picture of a pond with the toxin.] Cyanobacteria can have many different looks, including not being visible at all. Link to Kentucky Division of Water for more photos and information: https://eec.ky.gov/Environmental-Protection/Water/Monitor/Pages/HABS.aspx #:~:text=Harmful%20Algal%20Blooms%20Division%20of%20Water&text=A%20harmful%20algal%20bloom%2C%20or,skin%20in%20animals%20or%20humans.
"Death follows minutes to hours after exposure to a small amount of this toxin." As the weather gets hotter, ponds can start to have "algae blooms." The water itself can look like pea soup, or like green paint is spread on the surface of the water. Sometimes it is not visible at all. Some of these blooms are cyanobacteria, which can produce potent toxins. Dogs are exposed when they wade in the water and either drink the water directly, or lick it off themselves when they come out. There is no antidote; treatment is supportive and many dogs don't survive. If you believe your dog has been exposed, bathe him immediately. If he has any symptoms, bring him right in to a veterinarian. See comments for more information about signs and treatment. (Most ponds that look like this are not dangerous, but it is not possible to tell which ones are toxic and which ones aren't except by having the water tested; If in doubt, keep pets out.) Edited to add links to more pond phots.

Back in the day when I worked from my little shed 😊
Guys I am getting a lot of calls asking to move dogs forward for stripping. Removing the guard hairs is their waterproof coat this coat does not make them hot. It’s the undercoat that keeps the heat in. So my advice through this heat is to use a metal comb and groom them every day to remove dead undercoat. I cannot move my appointments anymore than I have as there are not enough hours in a day.
I am working round the clock to get the grooming done 😊and I appreciate your patience. If your dog is still suffering with the heat then either purchase a cooling coat which are amazing. Or use a wet small towel on their back. Better still get a paddling pool. Stay safe in the heat everyone 🙏😊❤️
I have been involved with this wonderful breed for over twenty years and the grooming of a Border Terrier is what I call an art. So much so it’s hard to find a groomer who knows what they are doing or enjoys it as I do.
I realised very early on that it’s not for everyone and very misunderstood by many Border Terrier owners.
So I started helping friends out which rapidly grew into what I have now. So when I am not in my full time job I am grooming or showing Border Terriers.
I now have a customer base of 171 Borders and I also groom some honorary dogs who are living with a Border. I also offer training for the Border Terrier owner who would like to do their own dog.
I love what I do because I get to meet so many lovely Borders and their families. plus I can educate on how a Border coat should be done. However if a your Borders coat is not suitable for stripping due to skin issues etc then I will also offer other services so the dog still gets groomed. The choice is always yours but I will advise about your dog’s coat.
