This is a video, looking down the microscope, of when we found Lungworm once.
Lungworm is a parasite that lives in the heart and lungs of dogs where it can cause serious disease. Dogs are most likely to become infected by swallowing slugs or snails carrying the parasite, often by accident when they chew or lick grass. However, as the slime trail that slugs and snails leave behind can also be infectious, even common behaviour like drinking from puddles could put your dog at risk.
