💊Just a little reminder to keep medications out of your pets reach!

Every year we see at least 4 pets that manage to get to them! Part of the regular treatment is to make them vomit them up as fast as possible to help prevent any issues the medications they ingested may cause! After this depending on the medication and the quantity we may run some bloods to check organ function at multiple day intervals. Depending on the results we may even need to put them on so intravenous fluid therapy to help prevent organ damage over a period of days. On top of this a prescribed black charcoal is often part of the care for 24-48 hours to prevent any further absorption of medication that may not have been vomited.

If your pet ever gets to medication not meant for them or has an overdose (even a little) of their own just call us for advice! 💊

Last week we had the ADORABLE Noodle in to be spayed! This means she will no longer have any seasons and so no surprise puppies for her. This also keeps her safe from the potential to contract an infection called pyometra that can be life threatening. We are wishing her a speedy recovery! 🩺

Biscuit the African Pygmy Hedgehog came in for her annual health check earlier this week. She occasionally goes to schools to help educate little kids and so she needs to be up to date with her checks, this includes checking her faeces to make sure she doesn't have any parasites that could make her owner or the kids sick!

Remember its not just cats and dogs that need some TLC ♥

It's National Spay day!

To be in line with todays title we had Bella in for her spay! She was quite interested to have a look around while we made friends before starting her preparation for surgery.

It's important to make sure all female cats and dogs are spayed for many reasons, some including:
👉Preventing painful seasons,
👉Preventing pregnancy,
👉Preventing potential anxious or aggressive behaviours of their own,
👉Preventing unwanted and potentially aggressive behaviours from the male counterparts,
👉Preventing things such as pyometra (infection of their uterus) that can potentially become deadly ,
👉prevention of mammary tumours and other cancers.

The spay procedure we offer is short and only takes 10-14 days for recovery on average.

For more information and to book the procedure in for your pet just give us a call on 02089741197.
