Part-time Stable Assistant
We are seeking an experienced, reliable and safety conscious individual to join our small team on our livery yard in Chester le Street, County Durham.
The suitable candidate must be over 18 years of age and must have previous proven experience in horse care and stable management. You will be required to carry out general yard duties including handling horses to and from the fields, rug changes, mucking out, prepping feeds, haynets and water buckets as well as maintaining a clean and tidy yard. You must be more than capable of working independently and be able to communicate diplomatically with clients. We provide a mix of full and assisted DIY livery therefore the workload can vary depending upon individual daily requirements. There will be no riding or travelling involved.
A full Driving Licence and own vehicle is preferrable as the closest bus route is quite a distance to walk.
Hours of work will be 10 hours per week over two days on a split shift basis and will include one weekend day. The role does require a certain amount of flexibility to accomodate ad hoc requests plus the ability to provide occassional annual or unplanned leave cover.
This post is a permanent position after successfully completing a 12 week probationary period. Attractive terms and conditions.
