We’re incredibly proud to share that Penshaw Padel has been featured by BBC News.

As a family farming business, this project has always been about so much more than building six indoor padel courts. It’s about securing the future of our farm through diversification while creating something that genuinely benefits the wider community.

We’re incredibly proud to be featured on Page 9 of The Daily Telegraph today, sharing our plans for Penshaw Padel. 🎾

As a fifth-generation family farm, we’re constantly looking at ways to adapt and secure the future of our business. Like so many farms across the UK, agriculture alone is becoming increasingly challenging, making diversification more important than ever.

Penshaw Padel is our vision for the future. It’s about creating a sustainable future for our farm while providing something genuinely valuable for the local community. Alongside six indoor padel courts, the plans include a café and social space where people of all ages can come together, stay active and connect.

We’re incredibly grateful for the support we’ve received from local residents, sports clubs, businesses and everyone who has taken the time to support our planning application. Every comment, share and letter of support has meant the world to us.

It’s official… our planning application for Penshaw Padel is now LIVE on the Sunderland Council planning portal! 🙊🎉

This project has been around a year in the making and has involved a huge amount of work behind the scenes. Now it’s in the hands of the planning committee.

If you’re local and believe our area would benefit from high-quality indoor padel facilities, we’d be incredibly grateful for your support. Every positive comment on the planning application helps demonstrate the demand for the facility and the positive impact it could have on our local community.

Planning permission has officially been submitted for what we hope will become a brand new premium indoor padel facility, less than a 15 minute walk from Penshaw Monument 🎾

Honestly… this feels like a huge moment.

What started as conversations, ideas and sketches has now become a real planning application and we couldn’t be more excited for this next step.

Our vision is about creating far more than just somewhere to play.

The plans include:
🎾 6 premium indoor doubles courts
☕️ A café with amazing food and drink overlooking the padel courts on one side and Penshaw Monument on the other
🛍️ Padel retail space
🧖 Premium changing facilities & recovery area
❄️ Full air conditioning
🚗 Free parking on site and bike racks

Most importantly, we want to create a space where padel feels accessible for everyone. Whether you’re a complete beginner picking up a racket for the first time, a family looking for something social to do together, or a competitive player wanting premium court access year round.

There’s still a long way to go and nothing is guaranteed, but we’re incredibly excited to finally start sharing more of the vision behind the scenes and we genuinely believe this could become something really special for the North East.

We’ll also be needing the support of the local community to help back the application and over the next few weeks we’ll share more information on how people can help support the project.
