K-Laser; We offer state of the art class IV Laser, K-Laser treatment, it can help your dog, cat, rabbit or horse with varied treatments and applications. The biological effects include but are not limited to Accelerated tissue repair and cell growth. Anti-inflammation, Anti-pain (Analgesic), improved vascular activity. Increased metabolic activity, improved nerve function, immunoregulation and can target trigger points and acupuncture points. Hydrotherapy;
We have 2 top of the range brand new hydro-physio under water treadmills with extended length chambers and incline options at our centre suitable for all breeds and sizes. Canine Hydrotherapy is used in the treatment of osteoarthritis, orthopaedic conditions, neurological conditions, muscle, ligament and other soft tissue injuries. It can also help with general convalescence, improve general fitness, cardiovascular stamina, muscle tone and is also helpful in aiding recovery from injury or surgery. Muscle wastage begins within 3 days of any immobilisation so to prevent further weakness or injury it is important to rebuild, through safe exercise, any muscles that have deteriorated. It is better to swim/walk dogs in heated water since cold water causes constriction of the blood vessels near the skin and to the superficial muscles (those just under the skin) which restricts the flow of blood making the muscles less efficient. Hydrotherapy is also considered to be a natural anti-inflammatory through its ability to reduce tissue swelling. Stance Analysis; We use our stance analysis system to assess and quantify our patients weight loading through each limb and use this to benchmark and monitor progress over time or to monitor early detection of potential lameness with referral back to your primary care veterinarian. This can help us validate our treatment plans to our clients and eliminates subjective interpretation. Theraplate; The Theraplate uses small, circular movements to stimulate muscle contraction and increase circulation. It works from the inside of your body out to yield powerful results with no negative impact to the joints. It can increase ATP within your body with unto 50% healing due to this increase along with reducing inflammation and swelling. It improves balance, joint, ligament and tendon function as well as building lean even muscle mass throughout your whole body with consistent use. Veterinary Nurses; We have a plethora of knowledge from our experienced and registered veterinary nurses who are available to answer your questions and offer support through a range of non-prescriptive activities

As of the 1st November our Winter Opening Hours will kick in. Although our late nights are reduced by an hour we’re opening an extra day and longer on a Friday and Saturday.

The lovely Lottie has been coming for hydrotherapy. She was diagnosed with Coonshound Disease a couple of months ago and today had her first Theraplate session to go along side her hydro.

She’s starting to get feelings back in parts of her body and starting to wriggle more, it’s great to see the improvements in her every week. One dog we really look forward to seeing every week 🥰

**Price Increase from November 10th**

To all clients: Most of you are already aware but just incase we haven’t yet seen you to tell you, please be aware of a slight increase in prices for treatments due to the ongoing increases in the cost of living. When you come into the centre we will inform you of them but we have also put posters around the building of the new pricing structure. Elbow dysplasia

This handsome boy who was referred for elbow dysplasia is doing amazing

Little Miss Bonnie is a character when she comes to see us. She broke her foot when she was tiny and has been visiting us since 4 months old to help strengthen and build her muscles. She is such a super star 🌟

Poppet is our oldest client, she’s been coming to the centre for nearly 3 years for reduced mobility. She amazes us every week 🥰

Otis has been coming to us for a month now for rehabilitation after his TPLO surgery. It’s been wonderful to be apart of his progress

A video taken of the beautiful Summer who was in for treatment last week for her Hip Dysplasia. Summer has only had 2 sessions prior to this and as you can see has taken to the treatment like a duck to water 🦆 💦 Underwater treadmill treatment is controlled by the speed we set, the water depth to give more or less buoyancy, and the duration of each set. We also have multiple techniques we can use to create resistance, increase range of movement and improve proprioception. The little markers on the bottom of the treadmill glass can give us information about their stride length and we can make adaptations to the treatment to correct this as well as hands on from our therapists to correct their foot placement. Keep up the great work Summer. 👏

Tuesday's thought....how long / far should we walk our dogs? Our dogs with joint conditions... mobility is key. Keeping them moving regularly to prevent stiffness. But It is matter of managing their capabilities and being consistent. Keep their walks short and regular. A 10 minute sniffy walk off lead to walk at their own pace, can be much more rewarding, both mentally and physically, than a 40 minute / 2 mile walk around the block for example. Meet handsome boy Oscar who is doing great in hydro today. Oscar has been coming to us for Hydrotherapy and K-Laser treatment for a number of conditions for approximately 18 months now. He has Elbow Dysplasia and had surgery on his elbow to remove a fragment of bone, had subsequent tendonitis of both his forelimbs. (biceps and supraspinatus) He also has Hip osteo-arthritis and lumbosacral disease. Oscar has been up to Greenside Regenerative team for Stem Cell and PRP to be implanted...look at him go now. 😍 How many ❤️ can we get for this amazing boy.

Dogs sniff for a multitude of reason; To follow scents from other animals, and to read the world around them. Dogs sense of smell and hearing are so much more enhanced than ours. Allowing dogs time to sniff is not only mentally enriching but can be a great stress release. It is hugely beneficial for their overall health and wellbeing. A walk doesn't have to be a power walk....it can be just as exhausting and satisfying allowing them free time to sniff, and this much more beneficial for our dogs with joint conditions. #ItIsTheirWalkNotOurs
