SUSPECTED POLLUTION INCIDENT including CAUTIONARY ADVICE TO DOG OWNERS

There are reports of effluent contamination seen in both the attenuation pond on Saighton Camp estate and Caldy brook.

As cautionary advice, whilst it is being investigated by Environment Agency, we would urge residents to NOT allow their dogs into the water.

The pollution was reported to the Environment Agency last night by the Parish Council and by some residents but if any other residents wish to report it, (the smell is rancid on parts of the estate near the pond so we would urge you to report it if you smell it or see it), any extra information may help the investigation.

If you are phoning regarding the estate, please mention that the attenuation pond does lead to the brook and the same pollution has been seen in Caldy brook which leads to the River Dee. The postcode used for the brook was CH3 5PR.
