Opened up her stride, lifted her back and released through her neck
My eventer throughly enjoys the hydrotherapy track to cool down 😍
Yet again the hydrotherapy track speaks for its self, 5 days in to Dexters get fitter routine and he’s lost 8kg
He’s done 3 sessions in the track, I have also taken him to the canter track and hacked him.
Dex is in a very good amount of work event fit but the lbs where pilling on. At least using the track I’m using an additional source of exercise with out putting strain on throws joint and ligaments
He still lives out at night, still has a feed and a small net when he’s in during the day.
Already his body shape has changed.
Today I Incorporated Trot work in the water.
As Dexter is prone to bruising from hard ground in his front feet, I can’t do much trot work on the roads.
Why Water Workouts Are Good for Your Joints
Think of the water track as “nature’s body weight support system.” It can unload up to almost 90 percent of the horses body weight.
That buoyancy makes moving in the water easier on the joints. “It allows horses to perform movement with an arthritic joint that would be painful on land, which then helps improve strength and flexibility in that joint.
Water exercise puts less stress on your joints
Exercise in the water removes the impact stress of ground reaction force fact.
It’s the same for humans 😜
Equine hydrotherapy has proven to help horses like Jess who have arthritis and are prone to laminitis.
Jess is smashing her stay here. We even have her living out at night with the girls. So she’s leading a normal horsey life 🥰
Storm has been with me for 6 weeks, when he came it was obvious he was very weak, had no core and his back had no muscle at all, uneven muscle tone over his top line. Despite having a slight lameness issue behind, he’s built up and is now like a little bull. And all this was done with no strain on the ligaments and joints. He feels as light as a feather in the water. Not only that the cold water is amazing for any inflammation
Lamantic prone pony - hydrotherapy is the way forward, not only does is help loose weight, but it builds muscle, core and lenghens the horses stride and to top it up it fitttens them up!
This Jess who’s in for 10 days 😇
Does anyone have a full limb foal red boot
They are special boots to help foal’s limbs
The vet has advised Bambi needs a set for her front legs each boot is near £800
I was wondering if anyone has one or set I could borrow to give premature Bambis’s legs the best chance
Bambi is doing really well her igg level is 829 after two ltrs of plasma and her white blood cells 9 which is amazing as it was 0.9.
She really is a miracle to fight through this and come out with results like this she really has proved that some premature goals who where technically being miscarried can survive.
She is that 1 in 25% who being a month early can do it with the right care and fighting attitude.
She has been off all fluids through the night and her glucose level was at 6 this morning. Premature babies struggle to maintain glucose levels hers kept dropping to 4 and below
She is now getting up and down her self to feed

After all the comments of which I’m am completely overwhelmed and emotional about, the kindness and positive vibes from everyone, my liveries at Chapelwood Farm Livery have set up a good fund me page to help Bambi.
So to everyone who has requested you comments weren’t ignored and thank you all so much.
I’m going to see Bambi later so will post some pictures. 😇😇
Bambi is a miracle foal
She needs one more bag of plasma to get her igg levels with ina safe and normal range and needs to stabilise with her glucose, she will be weaned off fluids over the next 24 hours and one more night in hospital.
Purely down to financial reasons I will then bring her home, she will then have to be nursed around the clock with restrictions on her getting up and down. because they said she is very very premature approximately 3-4 weeks her bones aren’t formed properly yet.
She is one of the 25% who actually against all odds is showing massive improvement.
She is not a dummy foal, is fully aware of what to do in regards to feeding etc.
Having rescued Lily her mum for a very small fee of money, who came to me pretty feral having all ready had a foal at the age of two years and has just carried another and given birth only aged 3 I want it be good for her too. She’s be ana amazing mum has allowed me to milk her every hour even lay down next to me at one stage so I could pull Bambi to her. She is a wonderful horse.
We aren’t out the woods but the gut feeling I had when I was put in a difficult situation was the right one.
Having had a lot of bad luck with foals I’m hoping my luck has changed
Early hours Sunday I delivered my mares premature foal . We fed her every hour via bottle or getting her up. She took a turn for the worse 24 hours old and is now in hospital. So apologies for no recent track updates
Bambi is in the best place for any chance. Her survival rate is less than 25% but I have to give her one chance. She has 0.9 white blood cells, suspected sepsis which vets believe was contracted in the womb. I couldn’t put her to sleep with out giving her 24 hours having, fluids, antibiotics and a plasma. Despite being so poorly Bambi doesn’t have a temperature and still wanted me to give her a little bit of milk in a bottle.
I’m having to be realistic and set a spending limit as I can’t get in debt. We are hitting her hard and I have everything crossed as I truly believe she is a fighter.
Bambi is 3 weeks premature so is doing amazing
Beautiful Beau getting her beach body under way!
With her breed type shes a good doer! She. Reds a strict diet and work routine. When she’s not ridden she hits the hydrotherapy track for up to 15mins
Stunning mare isn’t she 😍
In just 7 days Jimmy has lost 10.5kg
Using hydrotherapy for weight loss has various benefits, including the following: horses like humans can burn more calories per minute than with land exercise since water is generally more resistant than air. Cold water soothes sore muscles, which decreases pain. Water resistance increases strength and mobility.
As you can see Jimmy is enjoying is hydrotherapy weight loss sessions 🙌
Storm 😍 he’s looking like a little bull now. I’m so impressed with how his neck, core and hind end is building up. He really is feeling good 😊
Welcome Jimmy the beautiful stallion in for some hydrotherapy
My beautiful Teddy. First hydrotherapy session in months. This boy has such a fantastic walk. He naturally pushed from behind lifts and stretched his neck out. He finds working in water very easy. He becomes to fit with regular sessions 🤣 I love the sound of them in the water. As you can see the water is now cloudy this is purely because it’s stirred up. The water is full of natural minerals and has a constant flow of fresh water. Teds favourite thing is to drink it because it’s full of millions of good bacteria 😍
The lovely luna doing her last hydrotherapy session today of her two week rehabilitation here at Chapelwood. Her muscle has doubled as has her core strength. Fingers crossed the vet give her the go ahead for a ridden career

Whilst ive had a foal to nurse, ive still had other horses who also need my care. Jess came back to me for a weeks hydrotherapy. She has been off work due to a bad abcess. Being a horse that can get lami she cant afford to have to mu h tike off work. So in the track she has been going. Today i remembered to do a video.

This is Bud. One of my liveries. Bud has kissing spine, (it doesn’t cause him any pain he’s been like it since a very young age) also had inflamed suspensorys. But guess what he went to badminton grass roots last year he’s spent the winter using the track & being hacked and went in the school the odd time. And this season smashed his first event of the season and is ready for his next in a couple of weeks. His owner has to work away a few days a week. He goes on the walker and in the track at least once a week -He looks and feels amazing!
Storm today- he’s really building his strength up now. His hind and and core has improved so much. Storm came being a little off beind however we are able to continue to build him up. The very nature of water can help bones and joints in many ways: Water exercise uses the liquid's resistance to build muscle strength. Water resistance offers ease of movement while reducing pain. Water buoyancy reduces impact and stress when exercising, supporting injured muscles and joints during recovery. Water presses in on injured areas, reducing swelling and improving motion.
Warlock the beautiful Section A stallion. A credit to his owner. He was impeccably. Behaved. He absolutely loved the hydrotherapy track
Storm is smashing his fitness livery. His hund nd is buulding up briliantly and his back is now starting life as hes using himself correctly. #equestrian #foryou #equinehyrotherpy #watertrack #equinehydrotherapy #horsesoftiktok #equinehydrotherapy #equestrianlife #mylife
Storm having his first trot in the hydrotherapy track.. over time he will build up the strength and push his neck forward and down in a lower position. This type of work is hard but being in the water means everything feels light and puts no strain on their joints or ligaments. Just like water aerobics 👌
Storm is here for two months on fitness livery. Whilst he is here I will incorporate a variety of strengthening exercises along side hydrotherapy. Bless him he had two different types of weather in the space of minutes
Meet Storm. Beautiful boy. His owner is having whip replacement and wanted storm kept in tip top shape. So he will be with me for two months whilst she recovers. He will have a combination or hydrotherapy and ridden work over the next two months. He was tense going in to the water but within minutes settled in to it nicely
