Ollie holds an excess weight, working in water not only helps strip fat but puts no pressure on his ligaments and joints. He will feel as light as a feather in the water. You can see he’s loving his sessions

The gorgeous ‘ May’ this little mare has been having some back issues along with some weakness behind. It was her first day today and she was brilliant. Lake a snake to start which is normal, she needed to find her own balance, relax which then enables her to work correctly. She had some nice moments where she felt the release over her back and stretched her neck forward and down, lifted her core and pushed from behind.

Yet again the hydrotherapy track speaks for its self, 5 days in to Dexters get fitter routine and he’s lost 8kg

He’s done 3 sessions in the track, I have also taken him to the canter track and hacked him.

Dex is in a very good amount of work event fit but the lbs where pilling on. At least using the track I’m using an additional source of exercise with out putting strain on throws joint and ligaments

He still lives out at night, still has a feed and a small net when he’s in during the day.

Already his body shape has changed.

Today I Incorporated Trot work in the water.

As Dexter is prone to bruising from hard ground in his front feet, I can’t do much trot work on the roads.

Why Water Workouts Are Good for Your Joints
Think of the water track as “nature’s body weight support system.” It can unload up to almost 90 percent of the horses body weight.
That buoyancy makes moving in the water easier on the joints. “It allows horses to perform movement with an arthritic joint that would be painful on land, which then helps improve strength and flexibility in that joint.
Water exercise puts less stress on your joints
Exercise in the water removes the impact stress of ground reaction force fact.
It’s the same for humans 😜
