Ralphie!
A big part of dog training is also helping change owners' behaviours!
Many owners who have reactive dogs fall into bad habits of avoiding situations and other dogs 🐕
As part of training, I help owners with their confidence, which in turn helps their dogs!
In the last session with Ralphie we worked on his lead reactivity and loose lead walking. This session, we worked on recall and ignoring dogs.
He and his owner did great 😃
Do you remember Charlie?
I'm his fourth trainer as he would go ballistic at other dogs from 100s of meters away to the point he actually pulled his owners over in the past! 😔
This is session three with working with me and well..... watch the video and decide for yourself 😃
His owners were amazed 👏
Nico, the Rottie puppy!
First session working on his recall!
Think I want to keep him for myself 😆
Rosie, the Springer!
I have not uploaded many videos and pictures lately, simply for the reason I forget to take them!
Rosie has not long been rehomed by her new owner, and after being told she was fully trained, it came as a bit of a shock when she wouldn't walk on a lead or come back when called!
So we started with lead work, then worked up to starting recall!
I would have even been tempted to have her myself 😲
I'm sure Boden would love a girlfriend 🙄 😆
Bonjour from the Boden, Oscar and George 🇫🇷
We are currently away, hence why a bit slow to reply to messages!
However, taking full advantage of some sun and time off 😃
Apparently, Slovakian rough haired pointers and Springer Spaniels are a novel breed here, as everywhere we go, they get started at. At one point, we had the entire cafe's attention!! 😆
Even abroad, Boden still has random dogs barking at him. However, with he being on his holiday, he ignores them even more 🤣
Don't worry, Gizmo and Kane are on holiday too, just with their Grandad. With what would seem an unlimited supply of treats 😒 😄 they are also making the most of their time off!
More pictures to follow!
Fergus after 1 hour of training!
Now, he still has some way to go to go. However, there was no way his owners could ever be this close to another dog, let alone calmly walking next to Fudge without any reaction!
His owners couldn't believe the difference in one session! 👏
We changed his lead for one that would help Fergus and his owners, as well as changing the relationship between dog and owner!
You would be amazed how many of my clients have started training with another trainer/behaviourist first, then come to myself to get the help they need!
Amazing work from Fergus and his owners!
P.s. Fudge as well for being a good distraction 😄 🤣
Fergus before his session!
His owners got in contact with myself after numerous recommendations, as they had been working with another trainer for over 16 sessions! And felt like they weren't getting anywhere 😞
He was highly dog reactive , and his lead walking was making him hard work for his owners every time they left the house.
This is his before video. See what you think?
Part 2 to follow
Jet the collie!
Jet had developed some reactivity towards other entire males, and only entire males, due to some bad experiences he had with them! 😔
Luckily, Boden and Oscar were on hand to help in his rehabilitation 😃
Here he is after one session, I think he even wants to be Bodens friend 😂
Good work, Jet! 😁
Logi!
Logi started sessions due to his reactivity to other dogs. It was so bad that he was almost unbearable for his owners to take him out in public 😔
He is now able to pass dogs happily with no reaction, so his next step was his recall around distractions!
As you can see from the video, he did amazing 👏
Well done, everyone 👌
Storm the Mali! 😍
Storm has been struggling with her reactivity to dogs sometimes due to her being nervous around them.
So, with the help of Boden, we worked on building her confidence around other dogs and improving her recall at the same time 😁
Great work, Storm and Boden 😆
Part 3 of Koda
After 3 previous trainers/behaviourist, and thousands of pounds (£££), his owner never thought she would be able to take him to a busy public park due to his reactivity 😔
Well, here he is, busy public park during the summer holidays!
By no means perfect yet, but a massive improvement in only 2 sessions!
His owner is able to start enjoying taking him out to these kinds of places, and more importantly, Koda himself is also starting to enjoy himself 😃
If you feel like your current trainer or behaviourist is letting you down, why not drop me a message to see what I can do for you? You have nothing to lose, but potentially a lot to gain 😉
Big Dre, working on his dog distraction and off lead heel work!
Dre had shown some mild dog reactivity due to fear, with dogs rushing up to him.
As you can see from the video, he's smashing it 👏
Unfortunately, I had to cut the video short, as a group of kids appeared to see him and didn't want to get them in the video!
