FOREVER FOSTER APPEAL:

There’s a lot of info to know about Greg so please read carefully before applying 💜

Greg has FIV and calici virus. For that reason he could not live with other healthy cats. He could live with a cat who had both calci and FIV medically confirmed if there are any out there! We are aware that some people will argue that FIV cats can live with none FIV cats. The risk of transmission can be low, however we don’t feel it ethical to take any risk on healthy cat’s life, even a small risk, and that is our policy on the rehoming of FIV cats. He would also have to stay strictly indoors, he can’t venture out into the garden at all, and escape cannot be risked. He would not like to live with dogs or small children, as Greg is really ready for a quiet retirement now.

He does have FIV which means that he may suffer from more illnesses than a non FIV cat.

Greg has a heart murmur which he does not yet need any medication for, but must have 6 monthly reviews to check its progression, if any. However, he does not show any symptoms or problems with his heart condition. Greg does also have high blood pressure which is being managed with medication and this is easily given to him via his food, which is devours💜

Due to his calici virus, Greg can drool a little, some days are worse than others. However, at his check last week the vets were thrilled with the improvement in his mouth, and we are hopeful this will continue.

He’s had a few orthopaedic issues that are mostly age related, and so he doesn’t need exciting cat wheels or activity equipment as he’s currently on rest 💜

He doesn’t struggle at all with his one eye!

Medical stuff out of the way, we must tell you that Greg is the loveliest cat, and all he needs is a lap to sit on. He likes to make biscuits, and he really just needs a sofa to curl up on. While his prognosis was initially poor, Greg has defied even our expectations and made huge improvements. It’s difficult to say how long Greg will be with us, but even if he had a loving home for a month or two, we would consider that a victory. We are hopeful it would be much longer.

As a forever foster, there are no costs to you. We provide his food, litter, medication, and we cover his vets bills. All we ask is that you’re able to collect supplies from Padeswood, and take him to our vets in Mold when he needs to go (currently only once every six months for heart scans as routine), you stay in contact with us regularly, and you love him to bits and make his life as relaxing as possible for him 💜

Phillip came into care at as a stray with severely sun damaged ears that tested positive for pre-cancerous cells. The amazing team got him lifesaving surgery to remove his ears and despite his hard life, he's still the friendliest cat and full of character, starting the new life he deserves in a new home.
