🐱If your cat has received a diagnosis of feline arthritis then you know that it is not a disease that can be cured. The good news is that there is much that can be done to manage the pain which will make a huge difference in both their quality of life and slowing progression of the disease.

👩‍⚕️Feline arthritis impacts greatly upon quality of life. Delaying providing pain relief only results in a viscious cycle of joint damage,
plus can make pain harder to control in the long run. Pain relief is key to the successful management of arthritis, so talk to us today
to discuss how we can help your cat with the latest treatment option available.☎👨‍⚕️

Did you know cats are really good at hiding signs of illness or pain? They do this as a protective mechanism; however it makes it hard for us to spot when they are in pain, especially in cats with arthritis.

Maybe you have noticed your older cat is less keen to play or
struggling with stairs and clearing jumps? Or have you noticed that they seem to be slowing down in general? It is important that we don’t dismiss these signs as simply old age. Age itself is not a disease and we should always check out any signs of change in your cats as they could signal a medical problem such as arthritis.

Call us today to book an appointment so we can give your cat a
health MOT!

What are the signs of feline arthritis? 🦴🐶

Difficulty getting up or down stairs, trouble jumping up onto or down from surfaces, or becoming less active may all indicate signs
of arthritis. Cats with arthritis may also find it difficult to get to the litter tray, or outside, in time to toilet. If your cat is having accidents in the house, this can be a sign of arthritis
pain, although there are other illnesses which could cause this too.

☎If you have noticed any of these signs in your cat, call us today to book an appointment!

Calling all cats over 7 years old! 🐱

Did you know our feline friends can get arthritis as they get older, just like us humans? They don’t always show the signs the same way as we do though.
🦴Whilst arthritis can affect cats of all ages, older cats are more at risk of suffering from arthritis.
If your cat has been less active lately, looking a bit stiff or struggles to go up-and-down the stairs, it could be arthritis!
Over the next few weeks, will be doing posts to make more cat owners aware of this painful condition that often goes unnoticed! ☎Give us a call for more advice or to book a check-up.

🌞With the sudden rise in temperatures please remember to look after your pets 🐶🐱🐰 Heatstroke can be life-threatening in dogs and is easily avoided!🔥

🐾Do NOT walk your dog during the middle of the day. Missing a walk won't harm your dog, but heatstroke will! Try to walk them early morning and late evening🌅

⛱If sitting outdoors, ensure your pet has access to shade

💦Ensure your pet always has access to plenty of water

What to do if you suspect your dog is suffering from heatstroke: ✅Move them into a cool area
❌Do NOT hose them with ice cold water!
✅Apply towels soaked in cool water (NOT cold!), to head, neck & chest
✅Give SMALL amounts of tepid water
✅Contact your Vet ASAP☎️

See the poster below for signs of heatstroke to look out for!

❌In light of recent changes to COVID restrictions, we as a practice will continue to ask clients to wait outside for their appointment and we will allow one person per appointment into the building at a time. As it stands under Welsh Government rules people are still required to wear a mask indoors, and we will continue to request this until all of our staff members are fully vaccinated.

❌We understand that this may be frustrating for some people, however COVID cases remain high in this area and we would like to avoid having to close the practice at short notice due to staff members needing to isolate. We are a small practice and protecting our team is very important so that we are able to remain open to care for your pets.

Thank you for your continued support throughout the pandemic.🐾❤️🐶🐱🐰
