Trimming last years foals in the field! To be honest I've only done them in the barn once, every other time has been out in their field.
So when the excuse giving for a 4/5 year old not standing for the farrier is "oh he's young"... that doesn't really wash with me! 😂🤭 Do the ground work early and it makes all the difference

Why do you charge so much and why is remidal work so expensive?! Shoes can't cost that much to buy in?!
A question most farriers have likely had to answer during their career.
My answers are as follows;
🔵 You are not paying for horse shoes, you are paying for your horse to be shod.
🔵 Regarding the increased cost for remidal work... you are paying for hard earned knowledge, skills and the time it takes as well as any extra consumables that we the farrier has to buy in at a premium (pads, glues, welding etc etc).
🔵 A farrier will have thought hard about his pricing and what he or she thinks his work is worth... thusly it is usually reflected in the price list!

Meet Benedict, the welsh section D that'll make any blonde jealous! This handsome chap has been on my books for just over 12 months now. Over the last year, his owner and I have been managing him barefoot, and hes been doing very well! Hes got great quality feet but due to his work load increasing he started to go a bit foot sore!
