For those of you that don’t know, my little 2 year old Obi pup has unfortunately got cancer. He of course had to be a bit of a mystery and choose a strange and unusual cancer so he needed to see some specialists!

Our insurance is fantastic but unfortunately with these specialist visits the limit is being eaten up. He now needs some surgery to amputate either two toes and part of his paw, or his whole leg if that’s too tricky or the tumour has gone to his lymph node (results pending). They are hopeful this will remove the cancer at this time as it doesn’t look to have spread to organs thankfully.

The surgery will take us above our insurance limit and they need to do it quickly (provisional date 20/08) so it’s not a lot of time to scrape together costs! He may also need chemotherapy after amputation which is yet more costs.

I posted about this on his doggy Instagram page just yesterday and I cannot believe how quickly the community has rallied with friends as well as complete strangers sending messages of support, donating to help with costs, and offering to help any way they can.

The lovely Plush Puppies Uk natural treat company have organised a raffle to win some great doggy prizes with so many small businesses involved. The tickets are live on the website if you would like to buy any! The businesses have donated all prizes and 100% of the proceeds are kindly being used to help with Obi’s surgery and treatment costs that go above the insurance limits.

I know Obi is a young happy loving boy and will absolutely recover well, adapting to a new way of walking, playing and running away after stealing the TV remote, on either half a paw or three legs.

I’m completely overwhelmed by how kind and caring everyone is being and please continue to send your love and well wishes to Obi!
