Did you take part in the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch?
We did but typically the birds that normally frequent our garden didn't show up during the hour! We managed seven species though so not too bad.
Better news is that our RSPB counter-top collection box contained £86.53 when emptied by the RSPB this morning so a big thank you to everyone for popping in your loose change, it certainly adds up! 🙂 🐦

According to a new survey Teddy was the nation's favourite dog name during 2024. It's certainly ours!
Short snappy names are preferred as they are easy to use during training etc. Names of characters from TV and film are frequently used.
Other popular names include Luna, Lola, Milo, Bella, Daisy, Reggie, Poppy, Willow and Max.
The data is taken from 100,000 pet insurance policies for puppies born last year.

The RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch takes place at the end of January where you can take part and help create a snapshot of how the UK's garden birds are faring.
Last year over 600,000 people participated in what is now the UK's largest annual citizen science wildlife survey. Over 9.7 million birds were recorded during 2024's event with the house sparrow retaining top spot.
We support this event by taking part ourselves and encouraging others to do so by selling a wide range of foods at great value prices. Whether it be seed, sunflower hearts, peanuts, nyger or suet pellets, blocks, logs, fatballs, half and full coconuts, mealworms etc. we stock the lot at very low prices. For example 1kg of sunflower hearts is only £2.80!
Don't worry if you've nothing to put them in as we have a large choice of feeders in stock too.
So please devote one hour of your time and submit your results to ultimately help birds and other wildlife survive.
