๐ Conkers & Acorns โ Keep Your Pooch Safe This Autumn
Autumn is here โ golden leaves, cooler air, and perfect strolls with your four-legged best friend.
But did you know that some autumn treasures, like conkers and acorns, can be dangerous for dogs?
Why theyโre a problem:
If your dog chews or eats conkers or acorns, they could become quite poorly. These autumn finds are toxic to dogs and, in some cases, can sadly be fatal.
Theyโre also a choking hazard and can cause painful blockages in the gut.
Watch out for these signs of conker or acorn poisoning:
๐พ Being sick
๐พ Upset stomach or diarrhoea
๐พ Stomach pain
๐พ Restlessness or agitation
๐พ Rash
๐พ Swelling around the eyes or mouth
๐พ Weakness, collapse, or difficulty moving
โ If you think your dog has eaten or chewed a conker or acorn, contact your vet straight away. Acting quickly can make all the difference.
Enjoy those lovely autumn walks โ just keep a close eye on what your pup picks up along the way! ๐๐
