Cases of Lyme disease are on the increase. There are precautions that people can take to reduce the risk of infection if visiting woodlands or grassy areas where ticks are commonly found:

* Wear appropriate long clothing that covers the skin - consider tucking trousers into socks

* Keep to footpaths and avoid long grass

* Wear light colours so it is easier to spot a tick on your clothes

* Use insect repellent on exposed skin

* Inspect the skin for ticks - particularly at the end of the day. Be sure to check the head, neck, armpits, groin and waistband.

* Check children's head and neck area thoroughly - including the scalp

* Check pets for ticks.

I always try to spend some time getting know my customers and gain their trust. I often sit with them on the floor and let them come to me. This one took a bit of persuading but we were best friends by the time we were finished.

I absolutely love them, but do you know how amazing dogs noses are? They can smell 100,000 times better than us, they can breathe in and out at the same time and they are able to smell in 3D. This is just a few things they can do, there are loads more! #
