Our practice is taking part in the 2024 Antibiotic Amnesty. Throughout November 2024 we are asking pet owners to return any unused or leftover antibiotic medication to use for safe disposal. Please drop off any unused medications to us at the practice. You can hand them in to a vet, nurse or the reception team. This medication might be left-over from a recent prescription, antibiotics that you didn't need or out-of-date medication. Let's keep antibiotics working together!

Deafness is rising in the UK; by 2035, it is estimated that one in five British people (over 15 million) will experience hearing loss. Hearing Dogs for Deaf People is a national charity that trains dogs to alert deaf people to important and life-saving sounds like the smoke alarm, alarm clock and even a baby's cry. - Return them to your practice for safe disposal.

- Inappropriate disposal of unused antibiotic could contribute to antimicrobial resistance and pollute the environment through waterways, affecting our wildlife.

- Don't ever give your pet, or any pet to which they haven't been prescribed, left-over or out of date antibiotics. Using antibiotics when no needed could risk side effects, delay an accurate diagnosis for your pet, mean that your pet's condition may not be treatable, and contributes to antimicrobial resistance.
