This is Rollo looking absolutely fine in those festive antlers. Apparently Rollo is hoping for a replacement duck toy, the original had to be thrown away this year when its head came off - oh dear! Let’s hope Santa is listening! 🦆 🎄🎅🏻

This is Scooter the Surf Dog … sporting a very stylish Santa suit that compliments that blue mohawk perfectly! Scooter is rather famous appearing on TV and in the news quite a bit as a local therapy dog. Merry Christmas to Scooter and Kirstie!

🐾🎄Let’s see your Santa Paws! 🎄🐾

At the Apuldram Dog Field we LOVE Christmas. And as you’ll see this coming week, the Apuldram Centre will be going all festive with their Christmas Trees and Wreaths for sale, as well as a delicious festive menu in the café. So we want our Apuldram Dog Field furry friends to join in the festive fun too.

We need your photos; a Schnauzer on a sleigh, a Boxer in a bobble hat, a Jack Russell in a Christmas Jumper, a Beagle in a festive bandana … we want to see your doggie Christmas pics, particularly those taken visiting our dog field. Please email any pics of your four legged friend/s in their best Christmas attire and we will showcase as many of them as we can this December on our social media channels throughout December.

Please email them to us at [email protected] and tell us their name and what they’ve put on their 🐾 canine Christmas list this year.

⭐️Please submit one pic only.
⭐️Please mark your email with ’Santa Paws’ in the subject line.
⭐️By sending you give us permission to use them across our digital platforms.

💩💩PLEASE: A reminder … it is YOUR responsibility to bag and bin any poo left by your dog. There are poo bags and bins provided, so there is no excuse not to.

We have had a few incidents recently reported with poo being found and we are closely monitoring this. This is a shared space, which we all collectively have a responsibility to keep clean. We will have no option but to ban any dog owners found to be ignoring this rule.

And to the majority of you that do pick up as standard, thank you. 👍 💩💩

Important access info …

We have been notified by West Sussex County Council that Appledram Lane South will be partially closed for urgent drainage and flood prevention measures from 4th to 29th November 2024. This closure will be in effect, weekdays between 8.30am and 4.00pm.

During this closure, you will still be able to access the Apuldram Centre, Shop, Café and Apuldram Dog Field from the Fishbourne roundabout end of the lane (see green markings on map). Please adjust your travel time and route accordingly.

The council notification says:
“The urgent temporary closure is scheduled to commence on 4th November 2024 (it is estimated to be completed on 29th November 2024) and is required for the safety of the public and workforce while West Sussex County Council undertake weekday road closures between the junctions with Dell Quay Road and Fishbourne Road West for urgent drainage and flooding maintenance works.
The restriction will be in place weekdays, day-time only from 08:30 until 16:00”

Hello All! Just a quick update to remind everyone that from tomorrow (1st September 2024) we switch to our Autumn hours on the booking system. Please select the 'Autumn Hours' calendar tab to book for any sessions between now and 26th October.

If you are an 'early bird booker' you can also book for our Winter hours (from 27th October 2024) up to 3 months in advance by using the Winter Hours tab.

TOP TIP: As we head into the Autumn and Winter period our opening hours (dictated by our planning application rules) become less, so it may be useful to book in advance to ensure you get the slots you desire.

FABRIC REQUEST - CAN YOU HELP OUR FRIENDS AT THE APULDRAM CENTRE CHARITY?

"This is Bruce and he's very happy to be showing off his new bandana which was made here at The Apuldram Centre. Now lots of Bruce's friends want one too, but we haven't got enough farbic to make them with. Please can you hunt through your wardrobes and cupboards and drop off any unwanted items that could be turned into doggie bandanas that we will sell from our shop and café for a donation to the centre.

The fabric should be as large as possible and most importantly it needs to be washable (e.g. a colourful mens shirt, a patterned skirt or some curtain fabric off-cuts). Please drop at the centre clearly marked as 'Fabric for Debbie'.

And if you've a four legged friend who would look rather stylish in one, do watch out for the range of designs in the cafe and shop soon. 🐾"

🐾Do make use of our fresh water supply and dog bowls to keep your dog hydrated whilst visiting our field.
🐾We have a nice shady tree to sit and relax under on a hot day.
🐾With evening slots available, it is a lovely time to book and enjoy your walk in the cooler evening air.

And don't forget to keep yourself fed and watered too, with hot and cold drinks, snacks and main course meals all available at the Apuldram Centre café and shop which is open Monday to Saturday from 9.00am until 4.00pm.

🍎🍏IMPORTANT NOTE🍏🍎

Hi Everyone, It has come to our attention that a small number of dog field customers have been picking and taking away fruit from the orchard during their visits.

These orchards are owned and managed by The Apuldram Centre charity. As a working orchard it provides the fruit for the kitchens and café to create all their delicious products that they sell to raise charitable funds across the year.

We believe it was probably picked innocently, without this knowledge, but if they lose too much fruit from the crop it will hugely impact their charitable income for many months ahead. Therefore we request everyone using the field to NOT pick any of the fruit in future.

We will be putting some signs up to clarify this.

Thank you and we hope (without the fruit picking) you continue to love using our space.

Yes … the Apuldram Centre Café’s doggie ice cream is a sure-fire HIT with a discerning clientele. A great treat for them on a hot day.

Please also use the tap to fill up the water bowls and give them a good drink while you are visiting us too.

Sessions are booking up fast with the good weather and summer holidays, so do get your bookings in the diary to ensure you get the slots you hoped for.

On a hot day, we are very fortunate to have this beautiful old tree with circular bench seat in our dog field. The perfect spot to take a rest and some shade, whilst enjoying your visit. There is also fresh running water on site with dog bowls to make sure they can have a good drink of water to stay hydrated in the heat.

And its not only about the dogs ... the Apuldram Shop & Cafe has plenty of options for human companions to cool down and get a nice cold drink too, whilst their four legged friends have a doggie ice cream!
