So we have done a bit of a swap about with the stables as we felt that the stable Tempest and Perrier were in wasn't quite big enough so the foals have gone in there there is plenty of room in there for them. Archie and Storm have been moved nextdoor and Tempest and Perrier are now under the camera where I can keep an eye on them. With the cold and wet weather we have had both ponies have suffered a bit despite being fed hard feed they have had a special diet plan set up by Spillers to help them regain the weight and get topline back as these are two that we want to get out on the circuit this year we also have the dentist coming on the 31st Jan to check teeth for these two and all our other golden oldies. Perrier deciding to roll in a very wet muddy puddle didn't do herself any favours as the wet mud got through to the guard hairs and as a result she was shivering violently. Pam and I spent quite a while grooming her on Saturday to remove all the clumps of mud it took a week of being in before they dried. π± She looks fantastic now and it is amazing how in just a night she is now being able to regulate her temperature better and her hair was fluffed up Sunday morning when we got to the yard. If she improves this week we will turn her back out with the girls onto the hill Tempest needs feeding up a bit more and a bit more pampering and chill out time before we brave letting him out into the cold again the constant wet and extremely cold weather has been relentless down here and really took its toll on them. It does go to show that they are all individuals and some need more mollycoddling than others. Every year is different and they teach us something new all the time. We do love them all. I have a video below of Tempest and Perrier chilling munching on hay.

Weaning day today and although we have done the cold turkey approach due to the foals spending more and more time away from mums in the field we felt it was time. JoJo wasn't fussed at all considering she is a maiden mare even Cherry her foal wasn't fussed. Storm and Cassie were a different ball game and have been pretty vocal. Both foals have gone in with Flora and Peri who are both very chilled out. Cherry although bombing around the field with Storm has been going back and quietly grazing with Flora and Peri so it won't be long before everything settles down. Thankfully we managed to get everything done before the rain came in.
So Pony is still holding onto her hostage she has been getting increasingly restless this week and has been spending a lot of time lead down tonight she didn't even complain about going into her stable which Normally she has a complete melt down because her friend Avalon isn't with her. While out during the day she has now separated herself from the others and is more than happy to be alone from previous experience with the thoroughbred mares at Gainsborough stud and my own past mares she is showing signs of being ready. So as she is now 1 week overdue as of today we are hoping an extra set of hooves may grace us with their presence over the weekend. π¬ I jolly hope so as I have been awake since 3am this morning. πππ₯π΄π΅βπ«
