Matt and I have been busy today giving the reception an overhaul ready for Naturaw to arrive on Tuesday! 🥩
We have treats of all varieties but I’ve specifically tried to cater for our power chewers because I know how hard buying treats for dogs with jaws of steel can be!
Everything in our reception I have fed to, fed from or used on my own dogs.

Who remembers Camilla the chicken who Ben and Alex found abandoned at a service station on the motorway on their way to their holiday in Cornwall?
Well if you do, here she is living her best life with Alex and her family and her new chicken friends 🥰
Alex and her family didn’t have any chickens before Camilla and they’ve done everything they can to accommodate her.
She spent most of last week with Chalkland Vets due to a stuck egg but after a couple of worrying moments, she lives to cluck another day!
I think we can all agree that she is a very lucky chicken 🥰

Today we were apparently holding auditions for Britain’s Got Talent!
When one started they all wanted to join in. We were given quite the serenade by Roe, Archie, Steve and Nigel 🎶😂
By far my favourite purchase so far this year is our Dimagroove nail file.
Filing nails is more comfortable for the dogs than cutting them with nail clippers, it allows us to round the nails eliminating sharp edges which can harm owners and children and even the dogs themselves if they’re scratchy, it also allows us to get the nails shorter and encourages the quicks to recede.
I have used many nail files over the years but this piece of kit is a game changer. Absolutely worth the price tag!

It has taken a bit of work to get little Ralph to this point but just look at how well he is standing for his first hair cut 🥹
Some dogs are more accepting than others when it come to grooming, but we won’t put our clippers on them until we think they’re ready.
Rushing it can ruining the grooming experience for your dog for life and when you have a dog with a high maintenance coat where grooming is such a huge part of their lives it is so important to get it right!

Everybody meet Loki 🤩
Loki has been coming to Dogs Rock since 2020 when he was a teeny tiny puppy. Loki had to go for grooming elsewhere whilst I was out of action last year and when he returned he was really not a happy bunny and we had to send him home unfinished on his first visit back to us.
Whilst we are not ‘holistic’ or ‘consent based’ groomers, and will never market ourselves as such because we do ask dogs to step outside of their comfort zones often, we are kind and compassionate groomers and we do listen to our dogs.
Loki let me know at the last visit that he was very unsettled and unhappy and we listened. We knew it just wasn’t his day.
Today he came back to try again and with a bit of bribery with the lickimat and liver paste, Alex’s spaniel whispering and Ben’s gentle touch, we completed his groom and he was the same old Loki that I’ve always known and loved ❤️
