✨🌈 Gorgeous gorgeous Ronnie dog 🌈 ✨
I have been Ronnie’s groomer since 2018 and I have adored him ever since the very first day I met him. He and his brother Reggie who sadly passed around the same time as my mum in 2022 have always been two of my favourite dogs in the world.
I saw Ronnie often, he and I grieved together after I lost my mum and he lost his brother. We just understood each other’s pain. He was one incredibly special dog and I am absolutely heartbroken.
You are back with Reggie now boy. Pain free and happy. See you at the bridge one day big man ❤️🌈

I will be playing Christmas photo catch up later. I’ve tried to get as many as I can but with me living my life on morphine currently and Ben suffering with tonsillitis we have struggled to stay on top of it all.
Just 17 dogs left to groom on Monday and then we can rest!!

All walk in nail trims before Christmas will get a Christmas bow and a spritz of Christmas Pawfume!
No appointment necessary just pop in between 9-5pm tomorrow and 9-4pm on Monday.

Feeling Thankful 🐾
A huge shoutout to my incredible team, Ben and Alex. After spending the weekend in hospital with back pain so severe I couldn’t walk and finding out I have Degenerative Disc Disease and Arthritis of the spine, I was honestly dreading this week. But having a supportive team like these two is absolutely invaluable. They keep the cogs turning.
I’m currently unable to drive (thanks to oral morphine and diazepam!), but Ben and Alex have been picking me up and making sure I’m able to get to work so that we can keep your dogs looking their best for Christmas 🎄🐶
Not only that, but they’ve gone above and beyond today – carrying dogs for me and making sure I do as little as possible. Without them, I’d be stuck in bed and all your appointments would have had to be cancelled.
I’m feeling so grateful and lucky to have such an amazing team here at Dogs Rock. I truly couldn’t do it without them! 🖤
Due to a couple of rescheduled appointments I have a few spaces that have opened up for grooming.

Unveiling our new look reception!
Matt and I have been busy today giving the reception an overhaul ready for Naturaw to arrive on Tuesday! 🥩
We have treats of all varieties but I’ve specifically tried to cater for our power chewers because I know how hard buying treats for dogs with jaws of steel can be!
Everything in our reception I have fed to, fed from or used on my own dogs.

Who remembers Camilla the chicken who Ben and Alex found abandoned at a service station on the motorway on their way to their holiday in Cornwall?
Well if you do, here she is living her best life with Alex and her family and her new chicken friends 🥰
Alex and her family didn’t have any chickens before Camilla and they’ve done everything they can to accommodate her.
She spent most of last week with Chalkland Vets due to a stuck egg but after a couple of worrying moments, she lives to cluck another day!
I think we can all agree that she is a very lucky chicken 🥰

Today we were apparently holding auditions for Britain’s Got Talent!
When one started they all wanted to join in. We were given quite the serenade by Roe, Archie, Steve and Nigel 🎶😂
Hi, thanks for visiting my page. I’m Katie, Competitive Dog Stylist, Dog Groomer and Owner of K9 Style by Katie.
My grooming journey started in 2018 when I found myself unemployed at 31 years old for the first time since I was 13. I had recently suffered the loss of a person very close to me under very sudden and tragic circumstances and as a result I began to suffer with my mental health (it’s 2020 and I think it’s an important thing to talk about!). I was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and found it absolutely impossible to hold down my highly stressful office job. Focusing on any one thing for too long was just too much to ask and as a result I was (very nicely!) asked to resign.
Becoming an unemployed single mother to my then 11 year old daughter was never part of the plan and it seemed to me like the end of world at the time. I had been in full time employment for as long as I could remember and work was so much of who I was, the prospect of not having that was scary to say the least, never mind not knowing how I was going to pay my bills.
I put a call out to friends for work on Facebook. I was willing to do anything just to tide me over when an old friend said that she needed some help in her salon. Having grown up with dogs, having a father who was a dog handler in the forces, and having spent some years working with local dog rescues, I jumped at the opportunity to earn some money whilst being surrounded by dogs.
The first dog I ever groomed was an enormous old Newfoundland named Freddie. Unfortunately he died last year but I knew within 10 minutes of starting to groom him that there was nothing else in the world I would rather do and that is how K9 Style by Katie came to be.
It was pretty full on after that day and with the encouragement and support of my dear friend, I spent all of the money I had left on some clippers and scissors and I hit the ground running and was turning out grooms on my own within the week and I’ve never looked back.
I continued working in my friends salon under her guidance but began renting a table in her salon on a self employed basis after a month or so which allowed me to begin building my own client base allowing me to eventually go on to open my very own salon in June of 2019 in Foxham which is where you can find me now.
I also went on to gain my level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming and Canine First Aid in August 2019 studying with Heavenlyz Animal & Grooming Training completing the course in a record time of just 12 weeks.
I have always been a perfectionist and I’m incredibly competitive so I started competing in dog grooming competition across the country when I had been grooming for less than a year. At my first competition I placed 3rd in an open class competing against other groomers with years and years worth of experience (all while grooming a dog that I had never groomed before!) and I well and truly caught the competition bug!
So far I have placed in four out of the six competitions that I have entered including taking 1st place at PATS Groom Off at Sandown Racecourse in February this year and I am entered up for more competitions this year so watch this space...!
I have big dreams and I truly believe I have found my forever career. I am thankful for every single client who puts their trust in me to groom their beloved friend. It was once said that if you find a job you love, you never work another day in your life and I can confirm that to be absolutely true. My salon is my sanctuary and your dogs are my therapy. Without you and and without them, and without the love and support of all the people I have met along this journey so far, I honestly do not know where I would be.
