🎉What an exciting weekend at the Defender Burghley Horse Trials! 🏆

Huge congratulations to Ros Canter and Lordships Graffalo ('Walter') for their brilliant win - this pair just get better and better! (Wonderful Walter is half-brother to Pencos Arctic King, who stands at West Kington Stud.) Tim Price took a well-deserved 2nd place on Vitali, and a big shout-out to our local rider Harry Meade, who achieved an amazing hat trick, securing 3rd, 4th, and 12th places with his three entrants at this prestigious 5* event!

We were also very proud of West Kington Stud stallions Hearnesbrook New Moon and Catherston Oakley, who looked fabulous and behaved impeccably in the Stallion Parade on Friday.

⭐ Attention WKS Clients - Are your mares in foal? ⭐

We are now almost at the end of the breeding season, and it's time for next steps. If you have used one of our stallions, here's what to do:

🟢If your mares are in foal, let us know and we can issue the relevant covering certificates for you to register your babies next year.

🔴If they're not in foal this time, we'll be very happy to help transfer your nominations to next season, or arrange refunds, where appropriate. You can see the terms and conditions for each of our stallions on our website.

Please make sure you email (or post) your completed insemination and pregnancy certificates, signed by your vet, by 1st October at the latest (extra copies are available on request).

We are excited to announce that two of our stallions will be taking part in the BRITISH BREEDING STALLION PARADE at the prestigious Defender Burghley Horse Trials this Friday, 6th September. The Parade will be held in the House Arena at approximately 12:45 and will showcase a line-up of top British sires, including our stunning Connemara stallion, Hearnesbrook New Moon and the very handsome Catherston Oakley, owned by Anne Dicker of Catherston Stud.

The West Kington Stud team were delighted to be out and about at the Hunt Supporters Club Show today. Our Connemara stallion, Hearnesbrook New Moon, proved his star quality, winning the Mountain & Moorland (large breeds) for the third year in a row (with 3 different riders). Meanwhile, Jamima, the daughter of our TB stallion, Jamhoori xx, won the In Hand Hunter, Anne Whiteley's homebred mares, Tikkatiboo, won the dressage and there were plenty of rosettes and smiles for the rest of the team.

Despite the less than clement weather conditions, a great time was had by all - so huge thanks to the organisers for a wonderful day!

Congratulations to Fred Powell Eventing and Elevator Equestrian's Grafiba for this super achievement - a very well deserved 3rd place at NAF International Hartpury Horse Trials CCI3*L.

Fred Powell's super stallion, Just Chillin (Snoopy), who also evented up to CCI3*, is still available Fresh, Chilled and Frozen from West Kington Stud. Snoopy is impeccably bred for the job of eventing - his sire, Chilli Morning, won Badminton Horse Trials CCI5*, as well as individual Championship Medals, and his damsire, Master Imp xx, was a hugely prolific sire of top level event horses.

Pennie Wallace's Pencos Arctic King enjoyed posing for Bob Langrish this morning.

This exciting young stallion is maternal half brother to Ros Canter Eventing's Badminton Horse Trials winner and European Champion Lordships Graffalo - who has also just been selected for the Paris Olympics!

Pencos Arctic King's sire Chilli Morning was also a Badminton champion for William Fox-Pitt Eventing as well as finishing best of the Brits at the Rio 2016 Olympics.
