Here goes… a short story about a crazy idea! 2 weeks ago I decided that I would quite like to do the British Dressage Associated Championships with 4 year old Betty. She’s an absolute diamond & has done a bit of hacking but not so much in the school. At this point my canter was still rather a blur of Friesian mane & quite possibly better described as a gallop but hey ho we had 2 weeks before the deadline of 31st Aug! Calming sticking to the plan I book every arena hire I could get my hands on! Last weekend Betty did her first competition 😃 She was a 🤩 super sweet test & won with 68.39% (this was straight in at the deep end doing Novice 😳). We were absolutely over the moon!This weekend took us to Cockshot Dressage, Betty warmed up like a pro. On entering the arena Betty was not very impressed to see that a car had been parked in there & she was quite sure that she was not going to go within a good 15m of it… LITERALLY!!! Because I needed 3 scores to qualify & I had only booked 3 tests (last minute!) I didn’t have many options but to ride, so we tried but the car was too scary & we did a very tense test using only 2/3 of the arena! 🤦‍♀️😭 It was terrible (not Betty just the worst test I have ever struggled through!). But with the qualifying score being 60% I just thought TRY!! Tensely awaiting the score… 59.14% FFS!!! I’ve never sub 60’ed before but this was always a reality taking out a young horse who isn’t ready. I had another test to ride but had a bit of a wobble over what to do 🤷‍♀️ Not wanting to put any pressure on Betty I nearly withdrew, but having my ass kicked by some awesome people I went back in to try. Betty was so much braver & was doing a lovely test but the bravery turned a little cheeky 🐒 when she suddenly shot out of the gap exiting the arena! 😂 She shocked a few people but was swiftly corrected & we carried on for 66.29%! Thanks to the super 🌟 Nikki Leyton I managed to get a slot in the Novice again today but I had already ruled this test out because it’s far too difficult for us currently… today Betty did lots of new moves we haven’t even done before but posted a very decent 66.85% & the qualification is done!! 👌🤓🦄🥰

A super big step achieved this morning 👍😊 Baby Betty (4 year old Friesian) had her first outing - loaded, travelled & behaved beautifully!! Huge thank you to Amanda Wilson at for the arena hire, it’s such a lovely surface & they are the most helpful team! Travelling on my own with a youngster it’s good to know there is a smiley face when you get there. Highly recommend hiring with these guys 😊😃🦄😎💝💞

Massive thank you to everyone that came to this weekends Pole Clinic!
Super busy & we were so lucky 🍀☔️☀️ with the weather!
I said to a few people that I would book them back in for the same time at the next clinic (5th & 6th June). However, by the end of each day I forgot which groups they were so please msg me as a reminder! 😂🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️ Sorry!!!
I remembered the last group on Sunday but that was all my brain could manage! 😜
