We also had Luna passing her Good Companion Improver Award level in the Friday follow-on evening class ⭐🥳🏅🎉

In our Saturday morning follow-on class, we practiced stays and loose lead walking around each other, recall from play, and settle and relaxation ☺️☀️🌱🌳🐾

From our Saturday morning follow-on classes, we had Bonnie achieve her APDT Good Companion Foundation Award ⭐☺️🐾 well done Bonnie! 🎉

Part of the follow-on classes we've been working on calm greetings, here are Isla and Frankie doing a fabulous demo of this ☺️

Plus we've also been giving them an opportunity to have time off lead where we carefully assess their social interactions, plus it was a great opportunity to practice recall as a group ✅

Earlier this afternoon I had to say goodbye to my beautiful boy Billy 🐾💔

5 weeks ago today he was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma on his spleen and was given a prognosis of a few weeks left

Earlier today he started to show the signs of internal bleeding which I knew would be the final stages to come, and was confirmed by a scan at the vets this afternoon

I'm so relieved that I was with him in his final hours, and that he didn't suffer

I'm going to miss him so much, he has taught me so much about dog behaviour over the past 15 years

He is literally one of a kind, never replaceable, and he'll never be forgotten 💔🌈

🌱🌳 With it being a bright and sunny morning we got to be outside in the sunshine ☀️

💡 ALL did really well with settling into the class, our priority is ensuring the dogs feel comfortable, safe, and enjoy their time in the classes 👌🏻

⭐ 1-1 training session with Zeus earlier today, isn't he handsome! 🐶

In the last couple of training sessions, some of the things we've covered are:

💡 Foundations of loose-lead walking
💡 How to teach a lay down and settle
💡 Teaching him to not jump up
💡 Introduction to developing focus and connecting including around distractions

✅ Next week we'll be covering recall games, and progressing engagement activities whilst out about in the local park 🌳☀️

It was Fenton's last training class with us over the weekend 🥺 and I received a lovely card and gift from them 🫶🏻

His caregivers have put tons of effort and time into Fenton's training over the last few months, he joined us way back in puppy classes last year and has progressed through the APDT Awards to Improver level. He's a character full of spirit, and they all will be missed in the Friday evening classes! 🥲🐾

And as the weather gets warmer and drier, we'll be outdoors in the sunshine 🙌🏻🌱🌳☀️

Our Story

Over 18 years of animal related work experience along with currently being a provisional member of the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors (APBC). Since Graduating in 2011 - BSc (Hons) Animal Behaviour, I worked at a dog behaviour and training centre specialising in the behavioural consultations along with practical rehabilitation work. Since graduating from LJMU, I have completed the BIPDT course achieving 2nd Grade in August 2012. In 2015 I have also completed and passed the APBC Practical Assessment. I further my knowledge and practical skills by attending seminars on a regular basis. I don't advocate the dominant theory, which means no harsh punishments or quick fixes are used. Positive reinforcement reward based methods are used when dealing with problematic canine behaviours. Services shown below are available in the Buckshaw Village, Chorley, Leyland and the surround areas. Practical training 121s Group (up to 3 dogs) and solo dog walking Pop in visits Puppy Classes: Tuesdays at 6pm, Thursday at 7:30pm and Saturdays at 9:30am Beginner Dog Classes: Saturday at 10:30am Hoopers! Low Impact Agility: Tuesdays at 7:15pm (follow on) and Thursdays at 6:15pm (beginners)
