Off Topic Today!

To all our farmers heading down to London today, and all our farmers having to stay behind to milk, to feed calves, to tend to their flocks and pigs - to do what they do every single day.

To those who own their farms, and to those that rent their farms. To those who have enjoyed a lifetime working their land and building a resilient business that the next generation are excited to take on. To those that are just starting out and battling to make ends meet. To those who have invested heavily in getting their farms future proofed. To those who probably should be slowing down a bit, but can’t. To those who love their way of life, and those that are questioning their way of life. To those who are struggling to know what to do next. To those who are terrified of what might come next.

To those who work so hard to feed our nation, take care of our beautiful countryside and pass on your knowledge, work ethic and lifestyle to the next generation.

Know that we stand right behind you. The whole bloody country does.

Today is International Stress Awareness Day

Did you know that your dog or any pet for that matter, can greatly help reduce stress and boost mental wellbeing.
Interaction with your dog or other pet has relaxing effect on the body. Therefore helping to lower blood pressure, lower cortisol levels, and ease anxiety and depression.

Just by touching or cuddling your dog can cause the release of oxytocin, a hormone that promotes relaxation and bonding.

So if you’re feeling stressed, take a few extra moments cuddle your pooch or other pets.

UPDATE. If you are coming to our dog friendly bonfire night tonight the Eggesford roadworks are open from Lapford/Crediton/Exeter direction! 🔥 🐕

Join us for a quiet night out at our Dog Friendly Bonfire Night at The Fox & Hounds Country Hotel on Tuesday 5th November from 6:30pm.

From what we've been able to tell, there shouldn't be too much in the way of fireworks displays in the immediate area, so we thought we'd have a little get together, where dogs can come along.

We're having a bonfire in our lower gardens and we'll have a little bit of warm food and some drinks available. There's no charge to come along and just a small charge for food & drink, if you want any, to help cover costs.

This is a family friendly and dog friendly event and we hope you'll be able to pop for an informal get together on Bonfire Night.

I’m an insured level 3 qualified pet groomer.
