***What do feet have to do with infection?***
As frequent visitors to yards, farriers, like other visiting equine professionals, could walk disease from one horse to another. There are lots of ways that farriers keep risk low and lots of ways clients can help.
This is the topic of today’s Strangles Awareness Week podcast conversation with leading farriers Ben Benson (@btbensonfarrier) and Daniel Bennett (@farrier.mtb) who encourage horse owners to tell their farrier in advance about Strangles, have yard biosecurity in place and help the farrier where necessary.

Flu Vaccination level of immunity
Do you know how the immunity provided by vaccines changes over time? Watch this clip!
As this is a very hot topic lately, we thought it was relevant to share with you a short clip about the signs of Equine Flu.
Some of them are quite generic and if you think your horse is showing one of them doesn't necessarily mean it has got flu; however, as outbreaks are still being recorded daily across the country, it is sensible to get your horse checked if you have any concerns or doubts. Most importantly, make sure you keep your horse's vaccinations always up to date not only in the face of current outbreaks but also to prevent future ones. Prevention is key!
