Greenhill at Overley

Part or full time, experienced and efficient general groom wanted to join our existing team working at our smaller livery yard in Cirencester.
Overley is the sister yard to Greenhill Equitation and houses 12 liveries.
We are looking for an experienced groom to work 7.30-1 and/ or 2-5.30 daily. Must include a weekend day but we can be flexible with the rota.
Good rates of pay and full timers can have plenty of riding.
You absolutely must be able to muck out and care for the horses properly and have good standards. We are a tidy, organised and friendly yard and need to find someone for the remainder of the winter/ Spring season ( pref up to end of May) to join the team. Opportunity to join long term if desired.
We would consider Uni students from Hartpury and RAU providing you are reliable. We are flexible for uni holidays if you go home.
Non riders are considered providing you have good lunging skills.
Must drive a car and be a confident self starter.
Full time package includes:

We provide secure parking at Greenhill at Overley so you can ride straight into The Park without any worry of leaving your trailer on the side of the road.

This Christmas and New Year we will not be loaning our riding school horses and ponies to clients as we have in previous years.
Our staff work very hard and deserve a rest and so do the school ponies and horses.
We are open up to and including Saturday 23rd December and then closed until Saturday 30th December when we will have our normal group lessons. We will then be closed again until the following Saturday 6th January.
I am sorry to disappoint everyone but unfortunately staffing shortages in the UK is a big issue and our industry is suffering too.
If there are any EXPERIENCED yard staff looking for more shifts over the holiday period then please get in touch.

With the ponies safely back at Greenhill Equitation Centre and Livery Yard at Manor Farm and enjoying their busy schedule, we have a few livery spaces for various horses and ponies at Overley.
This is a very quiet and relaxed yard with the same care and attention you would expect from Greenhill.
With a 20x60m outdoor arena and a small indoor with a waxed surface, direct access to Cirencester Park, onsite staff and 18 acres of year round turnout, what’s not to like?
We have a great routine with the horses and ponies and no detail is overlooked.
Secure tack and rug rooms, hot and cold wash bay, clean loos! And full use of the facilities at Manor Farm, did I mention a hacking pass is included as well?

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
From Thursday 13th July we will be moving all the ponies and daily lessons to our larger yard at Manor Farm in Daglingworth.
You should be contacted about your regular lessons in the coming days to accommodate your current schedule or to give you an alternative.
All Summer holiday activities scheduled for the Summer holidays will still take place at Overley. If you are unsure about your booking please ring the office 01285 644982 and leave a clear message and contact number.
Mani and Paddy are staying at Overley so all under 4’s and private Paddy lessons will remain the same.

We will have room for a few more liveries at Overley if anyone is interested in taking advantage of these spaces.
I am afraid we do not do DIY. See the website for current packages.

Can I also take this opportunity to thank everyone for abiding by the no dogs rule. This is the same at Manor Farm so please do not bring your dog in the car or on a lead.

Due to the increase in traffic on Friday afternoon in Daglingworth with the Scout Jamboree in The Park, we advise leaving a bit of extra time if you can to get to us for lessons at 4pm and 4.45pm and approaching via Cirencester not Park Corner. WE ARE NOT CANCELLING ANY LESSONS
We appreciate you may be running a little late.

We are taking a hack out on Sunday 2nd July at 11.30 and have 4 ponies available for the children that can walk trot and canter independently. This is for an hour and is £45 per person.

Bank holiday Monday 29th hack at Overley at 11am.
This is a lovely walk and trot hack through the woods and trails of Oakley wood in Cirencester Park. We aim this at the more novice children. It is for 1 hour and we have 5 ponies available.
The cost is £45 for the hour. Please eat us know as soon as possible if you would like this.

🌻Summer camp bookings are now open🌼
This year Overley junior camp will be moving to Manor Farm so we can enjoy the facilities at our larger yard for three days of fun, learning and games.
We will have a non residential camp from Monday 31st July to Wednesday 1st August.
We will also be expanding the group of ponies we use to include the ponies already resident at Manor Farm.
We have 11 spaces so be quick and book your slot with us.
If you have any questions please ask.
Minimum age is 7. Camp will run from 9am - 5pm and will include all snacks, lunch and tea.
The cost is £450 each.

Our ponies love having you all ride them during the week and at weekends but it will soon be time to have the older, taller and more accomplished riders who have outgrown them come and join us at Greenhill Manor Farm.
We will be trying to find alternative days and times for those who are ready and will contact you in the coming days to migrate to the bigger yard and horses after half term.
Please look at your diaries if you think you may be one of those riders and have some options.

Wakey wakey everyone. It’s almost half term and another bank holiday!!!

We will be holding a pony day 11am-3pm with fun and games and riding on Tuesday 30th May and Thursday 1st June.
We are taking out a walk and trot hack on Monday 29th morning and Friday 2nd morning at 11am for an hour.
Wednesday 31st will take out a walk trot and if everything is going well, canter hack.
Hacking is £40 per child
Pony days are £65 each
All other lessons remain the same but are brought back an hour.
Some private slots are available subject to the ponies workload.

Well that has been a huge fortnight of fun stuff for everyone over the Easter holidays. We held day camps for both children and adults, pony days, egg hunts, lots of hacking through The Park, jump clinics, dressage clinics, gymkhanas and training days as well as being able to fit in the usual lessons.
We have welcomed new horses and owners, found our beautiful Raggie a lovely home to semi-retire to and all this in the very challenging weather.
Firstly thank you to all my staff. You are a fabulous team who work incredibly hard. Better weather is on the way I promise!
Thank you also to all our clients for your support and attendance we hope you had fun.
All the lesson times return to normal next week.
Finally we have a very special pony looking for a new home in the coming weeks. If you are looking for that awesome pony club allrounder and want to know more then get in touch. He’s 10 and 14.2 and wants a fun home with a capable jockey.

We are on the hunt for a schoolmaster to join the gang for an existing client. We are looking for 13.2-14.2 pref gelding but well behaved mares considered. Must be bombproof and snaffle mouth as this will be our clients first pony.
We are happy to consider 8-15years old but must be sound, well educated and currently in work.

Raggie will be stepping back from the riding school after Easter and is looking for a lead rein home or child that would like to loan her.
I would prefer her to stay at her current yard at Overley but if the right family home with companions came up then I would consider her moving.
Raggie has been the best child’s pony and has no vices or ailments.

Pony day and Easter egg hunt.
Unlimited numbers. Including a ridden session/games/hack depending on numbers. 11am-3pm £65

*Friday 7th: poles and jumping -1 hour of fun and learning £40 each. Two sessions according to ability. Please check with your coach.
11:15am - polework and small jumps
6 spaces available

2:15pm - jumps 50cm plus
6 spaces available

*Tuesday 11th pony day 11am-3pm £60

*Thursday 13th 11.15am - 1 hour
Kids hack lead rein or just off lead rein
8 spaces available £45

2:15 kids walk trot hack
8 spaces available £45

11-12:30 Easter gymkhana games.
Unlimited spaces £40 each

All other lessons are still available and private or semi private sessions for assessments also available.
