We took our final hack of 2024 around Cirencester Park this morning.
I was joined by nine friends and clients and had a lovely peaceful and surprisingly calm hack.
We will resume our feature hacks in February or March so keep an eye out on our social media.
Thanks for coming everyone and I hope it blew out the Christmas cobwebs.

Never a dull moment
Family and friends gathered for lunch on Christmas Day.
With thanks to the “Christmas crew” Sophia, Lucy, Angie, Scarlett minor and Sasha. We made it!
The rest of the gang join us tomorrow after their short break before we swap over and the “New Year Crew” take over.
Thanks to for a magnificent sirloin of beef.

We are busy. We have lots of lovely horses that need to be ridden and taken care of so we need to add to our team to make it easier for everyone.

Brexit hasnt helped and the constant barrage of people saying there is no money or prospects in horses is not doing our industry any good. Above all, it’s simply not true.

What we are:
A fun and friendly, highly organised mixed livery, competition, and training centre.
We offer quality tuition to everyone. Single time slots, spread through the day 5 days a week.
We care about all of our horses and have a 5* rating and will be BHS riding school and livery approved 2025.
We are very well established and respected (est 1994.)

What we are offering the right candidate.
We offer a 5.5 day week, 30 days holiday a year inc Christmas or New year off. One weekend day off each week and a half day in the week. A sensible flexible rota a month in advance with input from the team.
We have a starting salary for a 21 year old of £26’910 pa. The more qualified the higher the salary.
We have a clean, modern and comfortable shared house onsite ( single female only) with all the bills paid ( subject to accom offset)
We offer almost free livery ( a small charge for the rent of the stable) but hay and straw are included and you can ride in the day and train with help.
We encourage further exams so if that has always been a stumbling block to find a yard that offers training and progression then look no further.
We offer subsidised BHS exam fees, training, 1st aid, safeguarding and ride safe all paid for.

The most important thing is to see what clients and previous staff say. Look at the website and see. Look at the reviews and see what people say about us.
It may seem that we are always advertising and you may think we have a high turnover of staff but we don’t! not everyone makes the grade but this is not why we are looking. We are busy and we need more genuinely good staff to keep growing to meet demand.

It was time to scrub up and go out for a Christmas treat with the Team. Lucy was feeling under the weather so stayed at home in bed and Jason was behind the camera.

Hello Everyone
From January the 6th when lessons recommence after the holidays, we will be changing the structure and timing of the lessons.
Please look to see if you would like a regular slot and if you already come regularly please check lesson times as they may have changed by 15 minutes or so. We would like you to book up for the month of slots you would like, please talk to your coach.
You are still able to cancel ( please give plenty of notice, min 24hrs) but once the slots have gone I cannot make others until the Spring.

The lesson prices are also increasing by a few £’s to reflect the rise in all costs over the past year and so we can offer the very best in tuition and horsepower.

9am to 10.30am 30 minute slots for private lessons.
10.30-11.15 a semi private or group for 45 minutes - FULL
11.15 - 12 noon STAFF TRAINING
12.15-1pm- Private/semi private/group

4pm Children's 45 minute group max 6

SUNDAY STAFF WANTED
From the 5th January 2025 we need Sunday yard staff.
You must be 16 or over and have yard experience or willing to get up to speed by attending a training morning.
We are a mixed yard with high standards and need quick and efficient yard workers with a good attitude and must be reliable, have your own transport and be used to working as a team.
Shifts or all day work available and pay depends on age and experience and subject to a paid trial morning.
Freelancers welcome but we open at 7.30 and lunch is 1-2 and close at 5 on a Sunday so must be able to offer work within those hours. Morning yards must be included.
We are a friendly and organised yard.

Other weekday shifts available from Jan-May.
Also a full time, live in position may be available to the right person.

Spectacular Friday lunch today
Harissa roasted chicken, spiced pilaf with apricots and pistachios, flatbreads, cucumber raita and tomato and red onion salad. Missing a few bodies around the table but welcomed Hannah to her first Friyay lunch. Lucky us

🐎🐎Mucking out yard staff wanted🐎🐎
Winter is here and we have plenty of horses tucked up nice and warm. However, they need quick and efficient staff to keep the yard running smoothly so
We need one or two more yard staff to help the team with morning stables. This is for experienced, fit and motivated staff only.
You must have your own car and be reliable.
Mornings to suit you but must cover 7.30-10.30 for as many days as we can have. All 7 days need cover.
£13 per hour and you must be quick and efficient and know how to work a yard and muck out straw and shavings. Maximum of 6 horses per morning to muck out.
Riding if you would like to, it but this is unpaid.

One of my inexhaustible quests at Greenhill is to promote an environment of happiness and mentorship from generation to generation and allow the space for the children to understand the value and joy of helping others.
Lara came to us a couple of years ago riding once a week and we helped find her lovely pony Bonnie. Bonnie is having a period of rest after sustaining a small field injury so I have lent her Charlie so she can keep riding.
Martha is our youngest rider with her incredibly sweet pony Bobble and has been with us for over a year.
Today Lara rode Charlie who is the best pony in the universe ( in my humble opinion) and helped Martha with her independent riding. Nobody asked her, she just did it. What a pair of absolute superstars. We are hugely proud of Lara and so happy Martha is clearly in love with riding.

We are on the hunt for a new horse for an existing teenage client to be kept at Greenhill.
The horse needs to be 14.2-15.2 and preferably a gelding. He needs to be between 8-13yrs old and well schooled, balanced and calm to a jump and be vice free. His main focus will be dressage but he needs to hack safely and pop a small course of jumps.
There is a good budget available for the right horse.
No welsh D, pure TB, or pure WB’s please.
