💜💜 Obsessive Recessive Reptiles Exotics & Pets are supporting Murphy’s Army Purple Poppy Campaign this year! 💜💜💜

Murphy’s Army Purple Poppy Campaign first launched in 2016 and is dedicated to paying tribute to animals lost in service and to those who serve us today.

Their team is made up entirely of volunteers none of whom claim expenses of any kind. Each of their traditional poppies is hand made with love which has become the ethos of their campaign – love and respect for animals and each other.

"It’s always good to know who’s behind a business before you contact them. So I wanted to tell you a bit about myself.

I got married at the start of the year, which is what brought me to clay cross. The community in clay cross is lovely, I settled in straight away.

One of my reasons for cleaning is I understand it can be hard to find time, or find the energy to look after our homes. So I wanted to help out. Whether you’ve got kids and don’t have the time or your health restricts what you can do, I’m happy to help.

Each persons needs are different, so I always like to have an initial visit to see how I can best help you.

❤️🫖 From Tuesday 5th November Cup & Saucer will be serving their fabulous
🍰🫖CHRISTMAS AFTERNOON TEA 🫖🍰

🫖 This will REPLACE their Traditional Afternoon Tea until January.

All Christmas Afternoon Teas need to be pre-booked, with a £10 deposit per person.

As you know, they are a very small venue, so to enable them to accommodate everyone, your booked table will be yours for 1hr and 20mins.

(Vegan, vegetarian & GF can be catered for)

Parties of 8 to 12 people can be hosted in the evenings as a 'Private Booking' (5pm to 7pm) at a cost of £25pp.

As residents may be aware, ISG, the main contractor on the Clay Cross Active development, have gone into administration. Sites across the country, including Clay Cross Active will be shut today.

Whilst naturally this will have an impact on the Clay Cross Active project, the Council’s contract is not with ISG.

The Council’s Contract with Alliance Leisure and we are working with them and other stakeholders to restart the site and limit any disruption.

We’ll provide further updates in due course but want to provide reassurance that the development will continue.

Really didn’t expect to do a post like this but yesterday we had a visitor in our shop who is associated with another dog treat business in the area trying to intimidate us. To be threatened with ‘big men’ and being told we ‘don’t know who he is’ is not what we need at work. We have reached out and made the other business aware of the visitor in case they didn’t know. We are yet to receive an apology for this behaviour.

We want to make it clear we won’t accept this kind of behaviour in our shop and have done nothing to encourage this. CCTV with audio is in operation and anyone showing this behaviour will be reported to the police.

We welcome other businesses into clay cross, have never said a bad word about anyone and have always had the view that it gives customers choice and variety. The community spirit and support is what usually makes clay cross great.

It’s the customers prerogative who they’d like to shop with . We have not influenced this and we have not even visited the other business.

As always we focus on our own business. We have been in Clay Cross in some capacity for a number of years including at The Hub, involved in fiver fest and various community events.

Our business has been running online for a number of years too and prices have always been set to what we think is fair and reasonable and we have not concerned ourselves with other businesses prices. If we are lower we cannot help that. We’ve worked hard to find quality suppliers and negotiate wholesale prices to pass these savings on to our customers to help them provide amazing products to their pets affordably.

We just want to enjoy our little shop and make pets happy so that’s what we will continue to focus on.
