We have a passion for animals from all things furry to scaled and feathered. We have also worked with Exotics, Aquatics, Small Mammals, Wildfowl, Wildlife Rehabilitation, Zoo Animals, Domestic Animals and Farm Animals. The Surrey Ark is a unique business because the carers are qualified, fully insured and experienced in caring for a very wide range of animals. We would be happy to feed and clean your ferret, goat, hamster, gecko, cat or chickens, for example. We have the knowledge to handle them correctly, having learned about appropriate feeding routines and we will be watchful for any signs of ill health. This highly qualified level of care all goes towards ensuring that you have a relaxed holiday not worrying about your beloved pets, as they will be in very capable, caring and dependable hands. We are available for bookings in the local area. We can do house sitting for longer periods of a few weeks, if you would prefer, priced very competitively on an individual basis - just ask for a free, no obligation quote. Wow, look at you today!! Dear little Frankie is 14 and has not been well recently but today he was back on good form which was so nice to see. We had a lovely time on our walk which is completely tailored to his needs at his speed with some fun games indoors for part of the visit.

We did a practice one night Dog Sit with newbies Bonnie and Boomer last night to build up trust before a longer sit soon. Bonnie has just come out of season and is a little wary of strangers and Boomer is a little anxious but we spent time having lots of fun to build up trust and left the best of friends ready for next time ❤️🐾

Leah has walked Otis since he was a puppy. We have been going now for over 10 years and Leah set the business up with her partner Georgie all that time ago and now there are 10 of us who love our jobs ❤️🎉 🐾

Our little Surrey Ark family have been enjoying some shady walks and garden visits to avoid the heat of the day. Heat stroke is a big risk to dogs once we reach 28° and over, it can come on quickly as dogs cannot regulate their body temperature and pavements can be hot enough to burn paws. Dogs should not be charging around in the midday heat, this can be a big risk for heatstroke. We are all well versed in how to keep our regulars safe, remember the pavement test if you can hold the back of your hand on the tarmac for 10 seconds without burning then your dogs paws won’t burn. Take extra care out there with your best friends and enjoy this fantastic weather.🔥

What a pleasure it has been looking after the Tonkinese Cats Finneas and Evie this week. Phineas was very nervous and jumpy to start with and still eyes the camera suspiciously but is just so affectionate as soon as I arrive now. He wraps himself around my legs and purrs constantly.

Pippi and Florence were delighted to see me yesterday and it’s been a pleasure staying with them again for a couple of days. These gorgeous girls are both a little bit anxious around new people and dogs, but we have known them all their lives as well as their owners’ previous two mini dachshunds who we cared for, so it’s been over 10 years now. Dog sitting in their home is by far the least stressful way for them to be looked after as they are relaxed and happy. Can you believe how loving our dear ‘Lily Savage’ now is. For those who don’t know her history, she was kept as a breeding bitch for five years until she became so stressed that she attacked her own puppies and needed to be rehomed. Her lovely owners took her in at called Sue our Behaviourist, when she held them all siege in the kitchen, aggressively trying to attack anybody who came near. She now has a small group of trusted humans and Sue and Leah are in that circle. We haven’t seen her all summer and help out as Lily still has separation issues and has just moved into a new house.
