🐱🐱🐱Today (10th June) marks the deadline for ALL cats to be microchipped. Kittens must be microchipped before the age of 20 weeks🐱🐱🐱
But don't worry if you have forgot you still have 21 days to get your furry companion microchipped before facing a fine of up to £500‼️

Meet Oreo
Oreo is a Syrian hamster, who recently came into the practice for a check over because her leg had disappeared! 😱
Vet Jane checked her over and fortunately she is very bright and happy, despite her accident.
Her leg had indeed disappeared, but there was no wound or infection left behind, just a very clean healing scar. It is most likely that Oreo got something caught around her leg, maybe some of her bedding, which cut off the circulation and eventually made her leg fall off 😢

Luckily Oreo is bright and happy, and coping very well as a tri-pawd hamster.

Regular checks of toes and legs are important, no matter how big or small your pet is. However, accidents can always happen, and when they do, we at Galemire Vets are always more than happy to step in and help.

Oreo loved posing for photos for us, especially while being weighed on our tiny hamster scales- such a poser 🥰

Marleigh came in to see us this week to start his vaccines and for his microchip. He was a very brave boy and had cuddles with everyone here. We are all in love ❤️

One of our focuses this year is how we can be more sustainable within practice and doing our best to contribute as much as we can in becoming more environmentally friendly.
We have blister pack recycling available at both our practices for anyone to bring their animals medication packaging back for us to recycle.
Our goal is to have the large container filled within 6 months 🌎♻️

Jon qualified as a Veterinary Surgeon in 1989 from Bristol University and began his career at Galemire right away.

Having previously been a partner in the business for many years, he now works on a part time employed basis. His main interest is surgery, but also enjoys consulting with clients old and new.

Outside of work Jon enjoys a large range of hobbies including keeping a large vegetable and ornamental garden, beekeeping, music, walking and also spending time with family and friends.
