Meet Jasper.
Jasper is a nearly 14 year old collie-x, who came into us last Saturday following a vestibular attack. This affected his balance, making him very unsteady when moving. Last Saturday Jasper had to be carried everywhere because he was unable even to hold his own weight. He couldn’t eat or drink, and had to stay at the practice receiving intravenous fluids and lots of love and care.
On the Sunday he managed to start trying to walk, with support from vet Jane and nurse Abi. After a few more days he became more confident in himself and progressively needed less and less support from us. Staying in so long, the whole team have helped look after Jasper and everyone has fallen in love with him.
After daily visits from his family (and lots of Jasper flirting with the nurses!), he managed to walk independently to the car to go home on Thursday.
Well done Jasper! We wish you all the luck in the world, and look forward to seeing your progress when you come back for more cuddles 🥰

Meet Charlie. a 10 year old Labrador who has suffered with hip dysplasia and elbow arthritis since she was 6 months old!!
My name is Rachel, I am one of the nurses here at Galemire. I have had Charlie since she was 5 years old.
In the past she has needed anti inflammatory medications but I have managed her condition with exercise and diet/supplements until recently.
Now getting older and trying to keep up with the younger dogs, it became clear she needed something extra.
